Hi do you recommend driving or taking a tour to visit Tuscany from Florence. We only have a day in Tuscany. If driving can you give tips for finding best rates on rental cars. Thanks love your fab videos 😊
I recommend driving for more authentic experience. You will have to do more research on your own or work with a travel agency in Italy like mine to organize it for you but it’s much better than taking a tour because unfortunately most of them are very touristic ( they take you to super touristy places where they have deals with restaurants, etc. ) As far as finding the best rates on car rentals, I recommend going with the less popular company. Most of the time they have better rates and much more favorable renting conditions.
What great videos - was hoping you could help answer a few questions - (1) you mentioned in one of your videos to book everything - including tours and restaurant reservations in advance. How far in advance? I have a trip planned for early May - I have a few ideas for wineries I'd like to visit plus some restaurants right now but it seemed too early -- is it too early or best to just do it now? (2) i am dropping off a rental car in Siena at Avis/Budget, but am confused as to how to get into the town of Siena. I've read it's dangerous to walk because there is no sidewalk on some of the road leading up to the Piazza area where i am staying. Do most people just take a taxi from the car rental to their hotels or what?

Do you need a car Togo to these local family restaurants?
You definitely need a car if you are going from Pitigliano to the hot springs (and want to visit wineries and restaurants along the way.)
We missed those places but/AND look forward to taking them in next visit!!! LOVED Tuscany!
