I have studied and worked there for 30 years. Likewise incident I have seen many times with other my countrymen. There are reasons behind it. Mainly it happens basically because if our brothers from Punjab, whose purpose of visit is to stay in Russia or use Russia as transit to sneak into Western Europe. I have seen and met such 100s of my brothers . Russians have great respect for Indians. I can write a book about this. I lived there from 1982 to 2012. Also one must behave like a cultured person and stand in the que coolly and calmly, unlike the two referred in the video. Wish all the best to my travelling countrymen.
Absolutely true. Indians are extremely impatient whenever they have to wait in a queue be it at the bus stop,traffic, waiting for the signal ,even at a Doctor's clinic. Even if the car infront slows down they start honking. This is a classic example how a wrong impression/ perception created can harm everyone around

Me and my family went to Paris in 2019, we faced almost the same thing. Problem was the same - other people were crossing yellow line; they asked our hotel documents and itinerary, flight tickets and they asked us for all printouts. It also took us about 2 hours to pass through immigration.
Another problem was language problem. But, my daughter knows French , and so it was easy to communicate for us. Otherwise, it would have been a problem for us too.

I have been to Russia many times.The girls in Russia are always very sincere and caring. It is great of Tanya to be so bold and trusting.
India and Russia have great historic bonds of brotherhood and defence cooperations. Most Russians remember the times when India sent food aid to Russia at a time when there was a severe shortage in Russia.
I know there are many Indians who have married Russian girls and settled in India and Russia ...and a huge Russian tourism crowd in India too...without much trouble at the Indian immigration despite Russias poor economic condition..India welcomes Russians as the same with all countries .
I hope the Russian immigration could be more sensitive towards Indians rather than viewing them with suspicion merely on their observational and egoistic haughtiness..unless there is good reason to.
Intimidating Tanya was the lowest thing they could do because if Tanya had buckled under pressure, it would have been a financial loss and great inconvenience for the Indian traveller to return back and if this discriminatory attitude of the immigration was being done on a huge scale, perhaps it would also be a tourism financial loss too to Russia.
Agreed there are certain elements that are dangerous but that must be cleared at the time of Visa issuance..not when the traveller has already arrived at the airport.
Perhaps the Russian Immigration should offer Tanya a senior post to maturely oversee and ensure proper decorum is maintained in an unbiased manner when treating tourist guests...especially Indians...I am really sad to hear this kind of behaviour from the Russian immigration.

I get that, but the peremptory and rude attitude Indians show, as a false show of strength, or to substitute for jumpy impatience, doesn't help raise suspicions about them as travellers. Proper behaviour, courtesy, humility and inner poise, along with honesty and careful planning of documents, is the way to go.

I faced a similar issue at Vnukovo in 2015 when I went on a tourist visa to meet my Philippino ( then) friend ( now, fiance).Took four hours to clear with verification about hotel,cash,return ticket and friend's details.They called her up and called my name to see if I could recognise her.
Visited three more times through Dom and SVO airports ,no questions asked.

Dear, I saw ur video on immigration in Russia.
I was posted in London High Commission. I went to Moscow in 1997. I have an official Pass Port
One official from Ambassy was there at the airport to recibe me.
They give me a form to fill in.It was in russian language and no body was there to guide me in english. It was almost one hour there at immigration. At last I called the gentleman who came to receive me. He helped me in filling the immigration form.
They asked how long will u stay here and when u will leave? How much Rubal u have. All I have to fill in.
19 97 no one was allowed to take back US dollar from Russia.
This was the treatment of a Diplomatic chap in Russia. A very bad experience. Russia is a friend for money from India.

God saved u from the embarrassing situation of nearly deportation by the name of Tanya.
I'm reminded of nearly such situation in nineteenth Seventies my younger brother late Manorath Prasad Chandola an Aeronautical engineer was a member of an Indian contingent participating in the world engineering exhibition under Communist regime,he had a small Hanuman Chalisa booklet which caused panic among them but were hardly convinced why he is possessing it if he is not going to propagate exhibit etc. but keeping it just to ward off bad omens
Being in HAL and part of Indian contingent saved him from such situation
I already like Russian girls so much now their respect is even more grown in my view
