Man, I loved those single bass pedal days of HOF. He was so much more creative with his tom work (especially floor) since he wasn’t using the double pedal yet. I was a double pedal kid at the time, and seeing them play live many times around this around period really changed my approach, made me ditch the double pedal and use my toms more - very inspirational for my playing. ❤❤❤

I agree, their glory days were the first three albums, but everything that's come out since then has been awesome as well.

I wish the sound quality was better. Looked like he was killing it.

React to Nick Yacyshyn. He has a similar setup to early Des Kensel with the single bass drum and barebones kit, but makes the absolute most out of it. Speed, power, and creativity all at 11/10. Dave Grohl’s favorite drummer!

High On Fire could’ve written the soundtrack to Conan The Barbarian.

Cannot hear snare fills at all, it's all crash cymbal, kick drum and low-end! Love the boom stand sticking out between bassist and guitarist, band sweaty w no shirts, i assume they start sans shirts, the 'Lemmy'-esque vocals, the underground bootleg feel, energy of playin' live, hope the sound was better on stage? Better sound mix is all for audio playback

You'd think someone has their foot on the singer's throat.

The vocals are definitely meant to be experienced in a live setting, rather than appreciated for their aesthetic qualities from a live recording.

@@SouthernFarmingTV The vocalist/guitarist Matt Pike is actually in a class of his own, a living legend... do you have a following of hundreds of thousands of rabid fans who'd give the shirt off their back for you?
