I absolutely hated the glow recipe watermelon serum. Tacky, weirdly sheer, sticky sweet smell (would be good for a lip balm), didn’t layer well, not particularly hydrating Barely managed to use it up - on my body (and still hated the tackiness) Never buying anything of that brand again And Kelly, please make more Overrated/Underrated videos, brilliant category!
😂😂😂. This made me smile. I tried the product you mentioned but didn't do much for my skin. I wasn't that impressed. Glow Recipe is not intrinsically bad, for me it's very hit & miss. Some products are nice, but mostly I find them meh... Definitely overrated and way too expensive for what they are. The packaging is gorgeous, I'll give them that, but packaging is not enough to make me buy and keep on buying skincare
I was surprised when I first tried it like "THIS is what's so popular!?"🤔 I didn't get it, especially like you said because the texture isn't super pleasing. The smell is nice GR recently (smartly) made a watermelon scented body lotion.
I literally purchased Stratia Rewind last night, before watching this video today… I’m a HUGE fan of their Fortify oil and Night Shift retinol cream (I use it for my neck, chest, and hands), and more recently, Liquid Gold. Can’t wait to try it and continue to benefit from all of your recommendations, Kelly! ❤
Hi Kelly when talking about an over hyped Laneige product the lip mask is the most hyped product in the line. On me it's not very moisturising and I think it's not that great tbh - I far prefer the paula's choice balm in the pot, as it stays on the lips all night and really seals in moisture. The Skin1004 centella ampoule is also meh tbh and they have some really great products in that line I far prefer over this one. Cosrx snail cream was also a massive disappointment for me - it's just not that moisturising and I far prefer the new moisturiser with the fermented cica from Skin1004 (it has a similar texture). Truthfully most of the really hyped skincare is often a big disappointment for me, but I have severely dry, mature, rosacea and eczema prone skin so I NEED MOISTURE. Most moisturisers that say they're for dry skin are not moisturising enough and are often a disappointment tbh. I finally tried the updated Illyoon ato cream and won't repurchase - it sits on the skin leaving me dry underneath (although it works ok as a sleeping mask with another moisturiser underneath and I'll use it up that way). The new ordinary moisturiser - also meh and sits on top of the skin leaving me feeling both dry and a bit greasy (also works better as a sleeping mask btw). Best wishes.
I agree a lot of stuff that says it's for dry skin is most definitely NOT for classically dry skin! I think K-beauty is a big offender in this category but honestly, most products seem to be slightly off on their products for dry skin for some reason. I don't know why it's so hard to get super rich and nourishing creams!
@@KellyDriscoll I think part of the reason is the difference in climate. Korea is a much more humid place than Scotland lol and it’s unlikely that the challenges faced by my atopic skin are the same there. I know I’m a bit less dry in the Summer but it’s a short season here and I am back to needing a really rich cream. X
As someone else has said already, this is a great and helpful format, Kelly. I'm here for more installments 😉☺️ P.S. I'd LOVE to try Stratia skincare! (I'veheard you talk about them so many times) But they don't ship from the UK or Europe, so I fear the shipping costs would be very high 😵💫.
I'm so happy this series is helpful! Stratia is amazing, it's still a small brand (but growing) so they don't have the resources for selling/stocking outside the state's yet, but hopefully they keep expanding!
@@KellyDriscoll I had a look and using your code gives me a pretty good discount 😊. The shipping costs to the UK are indeed outrageous unfortunately. What I'm going to do is wait till I'm running out of products and do a big shop; that way those costs should be "softened".
I do enjoy the fragrance of the Laneige - I don’t notice a smokyness to it however I have tried many other k beauty products which I like so much more and are also less expensive. ☺️
Kelly I just decided to get the RNW ceremide serum! You kept talking about it, so I'm finally getting it. You said it's an all in one serum. I love not having a million steps in a skincare routine. Are there any other skincare products that you would call all in one. Again, love your hair! You have the cutest tops🤗😀😁
The laniege cream I can't use it. I tried a sample and it burned( irritated) my skin and I couldn't stand the smell it didn't go away . I had to rewash my face and start over .
IMPORTANT. Okay Kelly so you HAVE to try this serum from RNW. Their niacinimide plus one. It has tranexamic acid, the niacinimide in enough potency to see pore care results, as well as other brightening ingredients AND- the same 7 or 8 peptides that the RNW cerimide plus serum boasts. This is my number one niacinimide serum twice daily it is a powerhouse. Value and fragrance and essential oil free as well as great quality for the cost. Even clean beauty freaks would love it based on ingredients.
Hi Kelly! I have hesitated using Rewind because I heard there are reasons you shouldn't use DMAE for the long term. Can you explain why that might be true?...and hopefully put my mind at ease. Sincere thanks!☮️💜
I won't purchase any product that has fragrance. I recently bought a mini laneige refiner cream and I don't get the hype 🤷♀️ I didn't like how it felt on my skin. I've never been interested in the glow recipe. My face smelling like artificial scented fruit doesn't sound appealing.
Kelly what do you think about the Cerave cream (in the jar)? I have checked whether you have already talked about it but I haven't found any specific review. Sorry if I am wrong 😊
What if you did a video of skin care you wish worked for your skin?? (Personally I wished I loved purito’s galacto-niacin serum but hate the water-oil texture)
🙋🏻♀️OMG have you heard of Iunik? They have some MAJOR CLAIMS to their products & since finding them I've been curious but never hear of the brand maybe because it's a K beauty brand? Anywho when you have the chance please look at their products because if they are what they say they're HIGHLY UNDERRATED & @ great prices! Thanks in advance! ❤
Yes ofc! They are a great and affordable K-beauty brand, I've used and talked about them for years on my channel, recently rounded up faves here th-cam.com/video/LBEwRzIjdpE/w-d-xo.html
@KellyDriscoll Thank you I'll be watching the vid rn I'd really love to try their products. Do you have a video on essences/ampoules? I'm trying to build a skin system but am not really sure how/ where to start.
Is silicone safe to put on your face bc as far as I know in the ingredients laneige moisturizer cream contains and for sensitive skin I do not like the fragrance

Have never heard that, do you have any sources? My research has not yielded any warnings, studies show it has a good safety profile.
I really tired to get on the glow recipe train but nothing has worked for me and they’ve all broken me out;( I feel like I’m missing out ! Lol

Hi Kelly, is Missha overated?
Depends on the product, but overall they make really solid, quality products. The Time revolution essence and artemisia lines are especially good imo!
Hello Kelly! Nice Video. I Love You.

Laneige ( pronounced. Laneej) their parent company is Amore Pacific.
Laneige is actually referring to the French "la neige" which means the snow! AP is a huge conglomerate in S. Korea and owns a ton of brands.
