- A few people have requested me to make an elevator chime compilation that covers chimes from Hyundai Elevator (the largest elevator manufacturer in South Korea), so here it is! Hope you enjoy this chime compilation of one of the most common elevator brands in Indonesia!
Chimes and beeps included in this video are:
• 1990's chime (1): Four stages sound for both up and down.
• 1990's chimes (2): Four stages sound for up and two stages for down
• 2000's chimes: Four stages sound, commonly heard in installations prior to 2011.
Rare chime: Two stages for up and down, rarely heard.
• Korean chime: A chime that sounds a little bit similar to Mitsubishi. Widely heard in South Korea.
• 2010's chimes (1): Four stages for both up and down. Commonly heard in STVF (geared traction) and the more basic SSVF (YZER MRL) installations from the early to mid 2010's. Also referred to as the "xylophone chime".
• 2010s chimes (2): Two stages sound, commonly heard in LXVF (LUXEN) and some SSVF (YZER MRL) installations with orange LED dot matrix indicators.
• 2010's high-rise chimes: An improved version of the second 1990's chimes, only heard in high-rise (iXEL and possibly The EL) installations so far.
• Current chime (1): Single stage for up and two stages for up, only heard in the current batch of geared traction (WBST1) installations so far.
• Current chime (2): Four stages sound, heard in the current batch of YZER MRL (WBSS1 & WBSS2), LUXEN (WBLX), and iXEL high-rise (WBHS1) installations.

Fun Fact: Hyundai also makes cars and other transport, not just lifts/elevators and escalators.
But they're actually different Hyundai. The one that produces elevators belong to Hyundai Group, although Hyundai Motors was once part of Hyundai Group before it was spun-off.

I never knew Hyundai made elevators!
It's not the automotive company (Hyundai Group) that makes elevators.
Hyundai Elevator is owned by Hyundai Group, who also owns several companies such as Hyundai Asan, Hyundai Movex, etc. It is not affiliated with Hyundai Motors, who was previously part of Hyundai Group before it was spun off in 1997 due to Asian financial crisis.

Interresting chimes from a music composition point of view. The three note chime goes up the tone scale and the shorter two note chime down the scale. In the two note version of note division seems to be different as well. The two note version is very similair to mitsubitshi’s in the note sequence.
