That weird hallway with all the doors is a reference to different TV shows about spies. Mission Impossible was originally a TV show that was part of the same 60s spy craze that James Bond started. Two other shows were "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and a parody of spy stuff called "Get Smart". The hallway of doors leading to a payphone with a trap door was from the opening to Get Smart, and the label on the phone would be a nod to The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
You made me look, so I'm here to report that Atomic Edition came out in November '96 while Mission Impossible came out in May '96. So yeah, that was a very fresh reference! The knife was a good touch, but did you also notice the vomit on the floor from the dude they drugged? 😆 In the movie he throws up in a nearby garbage can before running out the room, but it was still a nice touch to leave the vomit on the floor here. (22:11) 9:00 Not familiar with War of the Worlds, or Orson Welles? H.G. Wells made the original book about Martians invading Earth in 1897. Orson Welles (same dude who made the movie Citizen Kane) did a dramatized radio show based on the events of the book for Halloween in 1938 and people tuning in late, and missing the opening explanation, thought it were legitimately hearing a series of news radio broadcasts about aliens invading Earth. Great stuff!
Actually, one of the coolest things done by Randy. It's too late, but the jetpack also helps to avoid the ambush, so you float above the floor (like in the movies!). And yeah, those new alien are quite something, but as it is already uploaded on TH-cam, you know that already
03:30 Face-tape! 08:34 Of course. 13:40 Trying the new weapon: The Expander 18:23 "I didn't even finish the sentence" - but it's good! 20:07 Becoming Ethan Hunt 22:12 "This is gonna be a trap" 28:38 New enemy!
ahhhh yes Duke Nukem 3D's Episode 4 "The Birth" from the Duke Nukem 3D Atomic edtion which in that version came with episode 4, although Duke Nukem 3D Plutonium Pak also allows you to install the new episode. Anyway, this is going to exciting since Duke Nukem 3D Atomic edtion was the version of Duke Nukem 3d that I got as a kid and since my computer at that time had a brand new Cd Drive, it was magical thing for me because it was the first time using it and of coruse Duke Nukem 3D Atomic edtion was the first cd that I put on the drive cuz I was exciting It was my first time playing the game. Anyway enough of back stories cuz “It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum… and I'm all out of gum" with Level 1 "It's Impossible" aka "Mission Imposible"
You can actually fly with the jetpack while shrunk, but I don't remember if you would have enough time to read the secret message in the kitchen without noclip :)
The interaction between force fields and explosions is janky (like everything else in the Build engine). Damage gets at least partially blocked by the field, but goes around the edge of the field with little or no reduction, so I like to drop pipebombs at the corners of doorways to maximize their effectiveness.
Now that I think about it, explosion damage seems to depend on the bomb having a line of sight to anything it damages, and I suspect that the game treats force fields as having a tiny gap between their edges and the edges of the bounding door frame, so the rocket or bomb that explodes a little to the side of the field can get an unobstructed line of sight to targets on the other side by essentially peeking around the edge.
Your probably to young to get the 'Avengers' reference of the umberalla and bola hat and 'Steed' on the coat hooks - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Avengers_(TV_series)

Who would've thunk that Randy could be a good map designer before he became THE GREASE ITSELF.
To answer your question about the pink lines... they're floor-aligned sprites... in this case, the top of the crate and cabinet respectively.

Thought you won’t be playing episode 4, glad you are. 😍
18:25 "Oy, Duke, look 'ere! I can face-rocket m'self too!"
03:30 Face-tape!
08:34 Of course.
13:40 Trying the new weapon: The Expander

20:07 Becoming Ethan Hunt
22:12 "This is gonna be a trap"

4:45 Steed? That's the wrong spy show!
Not the biggest fan of episode 4 but it has some cool moments too. Can't go wrong with more Duke
Edit: pink lines on a minimap show sprites

FYI, I don't think that's a meteor at 18:53. I think it's a burning fuse which is a reference to the old Mission Impossible TV series opening.

16:34 You forgot to inhale the helium!

That music will not get you in trouble on youtube. You can look up the ost on youtube and that song is in all of them. That song is fair use.
Your videos = pure gold, thanks ;)
Yeah, 4th episode level design is great.

You never blew up the duf beer blimp on The Stadium
Ah yes the running face rocket
Coin is now actually following rockets like a puppy trying to catch a ball.
I would suggest you increase the brightness a bit. Some places are darker than they should be.
A face radio! 📻 😅
Plutonium pack!
What is the source port? Is it Raze?
