I'm maharashtrian and have listened both the versions and I really want to say that Tamil version is much better.
No doubt she had given equal efforts to both but Tamil version sounds so good. Specially the male part in Tamil version is cherry on the cake.

the reason is that the tune was originally composed for Tamil lyrics. it becomes quite a big challenge for lyricists of other languages to fit in the right kind of words for an existing tune.

Also, most of the people say "Tamil" but in Marathi, it is written as तामिळ, focusing on the ळ sound (Tamizh).
