This was FANTASTIC information! I have been learning and following tutorials for over 2 years and absolutely no one explained these, seemingly confusing, but actually simple concepts! Thank you!
StudyBass might be the best resource on TH-cam for Theory, Bass and ‘practice’ fundamentals. Information is clearly and concisely delivered in every video. Everyone I’ve ever known (including myself) has used the downbeat/upbeat terminology incorrectly; and I wouldn’t have known without this video. Also, your post on Active Recall and Spaced Repetition is brilliant, and I’ll be incorporating such principles into my own playing and teaching. Thank you, and keep doing what you’re doing.
It's so nice hearing references to great music from my younger days in an educational context. I also never fail to learn something from each lesson. Thanks Andrew, looking forward to more....
Thanks that is awesome, so many confusions over what these different beats mean. It's felt like different people used the terms differently and I'm just not getting it. Great explanation of how and why people use them. Thank you so much.
Awesome stuff brother thank you so very much 😊 I love your videos and content 🙂🙂🙂share your videos with others also cause I as many people start focusing on your content 🙂🙂🙂
Thank you for your always clear explanations, good examples and putting everything into an understandable context. And the possibility to be able to spoil a party discussion is invaluable (these comments anker the new learned content in my memory).👌👍🎸
I really wanted people to just listen at that point. The examples might be a good ear training exercise. I just played a C 12-bar blues. Try to pick it out by ear. I suggest you learn to play some Big Joe Turner, Louis Jordan, Little Richard and Chuck Berry music. Great stuff!
I may not comment at times, but do know this I watch and re-watch these vids and do give credit where its due only because its true and benefitting me with knowledge as an intermediate bass player at a different level and taught at a higher level of understanding and with hands on examples and demonstrations to boot..which are great!..bye now.
