What really helps me in my workflow while mixing for a multiple In Ear-Setup or many different Bus-Mixes is the function "Solo follows Select" in the Monitoring-Section. Every time you select a different mix, the solo follows to that Bus and you can hear your changes to the musicians ears directly in your ears as well while adjusting.
Stereo in-ears are an absolute game changer. But you didn’t go over panning. Panning things to mimic the location on-stage makes things feel so much more natural. Also gives another layer of separation so higher margin for error, your mix doesn’t have to be as “perfectly” balanced to feel good. If you’re in the center stage position and your guitar player is on your right and keyboardist on your left, pan it in your ears to reflect that.
Hello, this video was very helpful in regards to the M32... great console. I do have a question... I am still not sure how to pan my in-ear monitors in my monitor mix. We are using the same Sennheiser ew-G4 monitor packs. I run the twin system - (two pack to the one receiver)... I cannot seem to find much out there and the M32 manual does not give you much info on this... Will you be making a short video in the near future on how to set up panning with in-ear monitor packs?.Just thought I would ask and again really appreciate this video. :D
So sorry it took me so long to respond!! Been on tour. Use the Bus encoder knobs (next to the screen) to affect your pan. I’ll try to make a quick video in the next week.
On the back side of the M32 & X32 is a USB equipped card that allows you to send multi tracks to a computer to Record the band and it also allows you to send that recording back into the console so you can mix the multi tracks. A great feature that lets a person practice & mix without having a live band on site.
