Good video , but certainly not value for money .. I tend to agree with a lot of the comments. 700 people on a ship that’s structured and built to hold double its capacity is included in your cost. Your paying for the seclusion and exclusivity on a ship. The champagne should be higher end not what your drinking and as for Oyster Bay Sav Blanc it is a 16 quid bottle of wine .. mmmmmm leaves me perplexed at who’s pairing the wine and food, seems very low end for a high price. I sailed transatlantic on the QM2 a couple years back for $2000 / 7 Nights / Britannia Suite a very basic ticket and had a much higher end food and culinary wine experience than what you had. I can’t help thinking you’ve been ripped off a bit , but hey .. it’s your money and it looked fun and nice in parts 👍👍👍 Good video well edited ! 👌👍🥂

Tbf you could do the cruise cheaper if you stayed in a smaller suite, the cost mostly relates to the large suite we had.

Yes. There are some excursions which come with a small charge but no need to spend anything once on board. Often travel to and from the ship included too 👍
Nemanja, that cheeky barman, kept us well oiled with cocktails, in fact we blame him for missing the evening entertainment! We loved our time on the Splendor! Great video, as always, and brought back some wonderful memories, looking forward to returning onboard soon.

Oh. That does look like high tea done right. Once you experience it with Cunard, it’s hard to find one that tops it. This ship may be quick competition. Destinations done right. BALCONY done right. Everything apparently done right. I wonder if you could take the bath home as a souvenir.

That was the price for the suite on the week long voyage we were on (though it was one of the more expensive suites, you could do this cruise for much less in a smaller suite).
From memory most of the restaurants last seating was either 9pm or 9.30pm.

Great video! We were on this very sailing, and I actually spotted myself in two of your shots! Somehow I managed to gain only a pound across the whole trip, despite eating and drinking plenty! We can't wait to sail on Regent again!

Okay, I am jealous. It's been a long time since i've been on a Seven Seas cruise, 2001 on the Navigator. I got a very good deal (after 9/11, so I wish I hadn't) it will be interesting to see what has changed.

Silversea is a bit more intimate though the new Silver Nova IS creeping up in size. Which is a shame.

I don’t spend THAT much per night! I just get a veranda or concierge veranda stateroom (fine for us peons-especially a solo paying double, lol-I don’t need a butler, thank you very much, and I save canapé calories!). But it’s a fabulous ship. I was just on the O Marina TA from Miami to Rome in April, which was also a nice ship. Looks like a great itinerary-have never been to Visby. Helen’s “workout” during yours.😂 Love the lobster tempura in Pacific Rim. I never made it anywhere but my room after evening entertainment. Very nice camera work and editing job!

Have you been following the Ruby Princess which seems to have suffered a hole in its hull while docking?
No, haven’t seen that. (goes off to look it up)…
@@visitwithus At the risk of both hijacking the comments for a moment and being serious (which I usually prefer not to do) I think from a view of that hole after the paint was removed, that Princess made the correct decision to not sail. My next guess is that the US Coast Guard probably would not have allowed them anyway had they wanted to sail without patching the hole. I will also say that as fun and luxurious and relaxing and fantastic as the cruises you show us are, I believe that this is a reminder that even if not seen after a muster on the television the cruise companies really do take their passengers' safety seriously.
I will also offer my opinion that Princess' offer (if I understand it correctly) of either a full refund on this cruise and generous discount on another cruise or a partial discount on this cruise and a discount on another cruise is generous and takes into account differing scheduling and travel issues the passengers have.
My first house cost less than this cruise.

Not the most expansive. Brand new Ritz Carlton ship. Much more expansive. Staterooms are enormous!
Regent's most expensive suite is the Splendor/Grandeur Regent Suite at around USD12,000 per night. The most expensive Ritz Carlton suite is Evrima's Owner's Suite at around USD9,900 per night. Regent still have the crown. 🙂

Enjoy your videos Rich, but if anybody is stupid enough to spend $5,000 (is this for one person or two) then they must be either completely out of there minds, or too much money with not too much between the ears. If the cost was 50% less it would still be far too high and the cruise line would still be making huge profits from their passengers. Firstly think rationally, restaurant etc on shore have to pay duty and taxes and still make a profit and yet cruise lines where the prices are usually higher do not pay taxes and duty. For instance a beer of a certain brand is still exactly the same beer no matter if served ashore or on such as P&O. It is still the same beer. I noticed Twinings being served in tea bags instead of loose tea and this is a ultra luxury ship? Mind you it is US owned so there is part of the answer. Some call it a 6 star ship although they is not a single 6 star hotel in US.Same ingredients in a named cocktail no matter if an expensive or inexpensive cruise. Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc you have to be kidding, after paying so much for the cruise. Nothing wrong with it I drink it myself Its sells in Australia onshore duty and taxes paid from bottle shop for about USD 17 I would expect far more for the price of the cruise. Same again for the champagne, Monopole Blue Top Champagne by Heidsieck in Australia $69.95 per bottle about USD 44.30 again ship not paying taxes and duty. A complete rip off for $5,000 a night cruise, I would expect far more expensive drinks although they are not always better.Personally I find nothing wrong with Champagne and wines from Aldi. Wonder if the crew get better salaries than on other cruise ships.. God only knows what they must think of the gluttony that they see from the passengers when they are working so hard to keep their families fed with even in a slice of bread in countries such as Philippines and Indonesia and India. Must be a slap in the face seeing these people on a ship such as this when their own families have next to nothing, but the cruise lines do not use any commonsense they should be thinking European crew instead if going for their cheapest option at the prices they charge.
I see your point but to be fair, there’s a cruise to suit everybody and every budget. What might seem reasonable to somebody would be completely bonkers to someone else. I can’t understand why someone spends £10k on a first class flight. Waste of money IMO. And let’s be honest, £5k a day (for both of you) is a LOT cheaper than having your own private yacht. 🙂
As for the crew issue, it’s the same consideration for those who work in high end hotels. I guess if you’re a professional waiter or sommelier or room steward, it’s a feather in your cap to work in the best places, both on land and at sea.
@@visitwithus There is also a lot of resentment. I have been involved in the industry for more than 50 years. It is the greedy cruise lines that are they course as you know most of them are US owned and this is when it all started when the likes of P&O and Cunard and HAL and more were sold to US owners.
If half of your Regent cruise is booked with Farm Bureau insurance agents, the cruise is basically $5,000 a night to stay in your room. Regent once. Never again.

Great vid. Seriously. I’d much rather take a different line and spend my money a bit differently (if you consider 7 nights at $5K.) For that price I could cruise on Ritz Carlton, or get a suite on royal/virgin/etc, THEN rent a large ski house right next to the mountain at Breckinridge for 2 months (about $10K/mo for a really nice house.) Or you could go to a wildly nice all inclusive resort in Mexico for a week and get showered in caviar. Or you could do a trip to bora bora, or a trip to Dubai and stay at the burj Al Arab/royal atlantis. In short I feel like there are so many different options that allow you to get a lot more out of the price. I wouldn’t mind trying this line for a 3-4 night cruise just for the experience but honestly I’d take all those other vacations first.
Tbf, that was the price for one of their top end suites. You could cruise for a lot less in one of their verandah suites which are equally as lovely, just smaller. And other than that you’d have the same experience 👍

I have always thought a cruise with thousands of loud drinkers noisy children and mayhem would be one's nightmare, But I am amazed at what you both did and consumed in just one day, the foods that seemed to continually be on tap looked so delightful the cakes were especially my heart desire. and all of these are included in the trip it incredible I would love just one day to be able to experience this out of the world cruise to eat such fine food indulge in special drinks to feel so special what a wonderful treat for anyone to experience. I would love to experience just once what its like to be treated with such kindness. unless I find someone to go with I wont go .Thankyou both for sharing the most loveliest day. We were just about to book this cruise for a 8nt cruise from Southampton Aug 2024, but unfortunately we have put off by the terrible reviews on Tripadvisor, most reviews were 1-3 stars, we have sailed with Regent many times over the the years so we were shocked to see such terrible reviews. It was great to see such a great review, I could be swayed now to book. Many thanks.
Oh dear, we have to say that was not our experience at all, we had a wonderful time. If you want some advise on booking then we would recommend calling our preferred and trusted friends at Panache cruises. Let them know we’ve recommended you and they should do you a good deal too 👍 Let us know if you decide to book a cruise and what you think of it.

Some people chose to drive a Bentley while others are happy in an old banger. What we can say is that even if you chose a suite at half this price or less we hope the video still reflects the Regent experience.

@@visitwithus The difference in quality between a Bentley (regent seven seas) and a VW (NCL) is obvious, but the difference in quality between regent seven seas and NCL is nowhere near as obvious.
The proof is that they serve you Monopole champagne at 30 euros a bottle while you pay 5000 euros a night, whereas a low-end company like Costa at 100 euros a night serves its customers Jacquart champagne which also costs 30 euros a bottle.
Personally, at 5,000 euros a night, I'd be outraged to be served entry-level champagne.
Depends what price you put on enjoyment
It beats a cruise for the masses where the kids ride for free
For $5k/day you could get a 1st class Singapore Air suite to anywhere in the world, and still have plenty left for 5 star dining and a 5star hotel.
This is for people who want to spend more time on a boat than actually being somewhere.
