Many if not most of the "tall Tales" were based on real events, just exaggerated. Also "Johnny Appleseed was real and his real name was John Chapman. I lived near where he was born in Massachusetts. Davey Crockett was not only real but was both a explorer and a congressman and like Bowie met his fate at the Alamo. BTW that "Bowie" knife at the park ISN'T a Bowie knife. As it's MUCH smaller than a real Bowie type knife is. It's a shame that corporate disney will soon wipe away ALL if this that not only ties into Walt's Disney history, but actual American history and replace it with just more merch pushing IP. If you are a old school Walt Disney fan, you'd know ALL of this stuff. But as corporate disney hates Walt and all he stood for, they NEVER show any of these cartoons anymore as they used to on the old Disney Channel as well as the Wonderful World of Disney, not to mention other place like the MMC and specials.

    • @ddc163264

@@Fionnachu Yes, that's why its up on the wall there. But current corporate disney no longer shows these shorts.

Thank you so much. I do feel you are talking to just me, like the two of us are there together. You always make me laugh a little, understand more of what the topic is and learn more details. That is one of my favorite parts the new details I missed. I was able to go to Disney world about a year ago. We ate many times there at Pecos Bill's place. I did see many of the things you pointed out, but I learned so much more that I didn't noticed. Wish I had seen this before we went. I hope I get to go back there again someday.

One of our favorites. It was better when they had the true fixins bar with guacamole, melted cheese, salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, etc. The Pecos Bill animated cartoon is often considered to be one of the WW2 Disney cartoons because even though it was released after the war it consisted of material largely animated and done during the war. Heading to MK for an after hours in a couple of weeks! Great video!

This place sounds very new to me at WDW. I tried watching Davy Crockett as a child but I could not get into it, I will have to give it a watch in the future. Thank you for sharing these secrets as they are so informative. I could tell that this place serves Mexican food just by the uniqueness of the place. A lot of Mexican restaurants in Mexico look like this and I find that something else. Disney takes into account of bringing in other food types to it's parks and I love that they still go on that trend.

Pecos Bill's is one of my favorite places. And I am not alone, because whenever I am there, it is ALWAYS super busy. I have never seen it like it was in this video; practically empty. That's because, of course, I get hungry when everyone else gets hungry. I don't have a favorite menu item, because I love everything they serve. And I don't get to eat there on every WDW trip, because we don't always do the Magic Kingdom, but I do patronize Pecos Bill's whenever I can.

Another "real world" reason the Lone Ranger's name plate is probably empty is that the studio who made it is very tight with their copyright of the property. Famously, they wouldn't let Clayton Moore, the actor who portrayed him, wear the mask on late night tv shows or at conventions. He wore huge dark sunglasses, instead.

A restaurant that covid absolutely ruined, the "condiment bar where you can get all the fixin's" used to be actual stuff you wanted to put on your food, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, salsa, lettuce, now can't have people handling stuff where other people are, and poof gone, now you get individual packets of ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, etc... i.e. stuff you get from fast food places, now they give you that stuff as sides in individual containers (i.e. more waste). Now with all that being said, the average Disney guest is kind of gross (watch how many wash their hands when they use the restroom), and overall unsanitary i.e. put something on their plate then put it back, etc. so overall it's probably for the better than they got rid of the condiment bar 🤣🤣

    MAGIC SPOILERS ALERT 🚨
Pecos bill and tortuga tavern are connected and cast members from pecos may also be seen at the tavern in adventureland. They do have a different menu but share a kitchen mostly. Pecos has its own birthday song as well! The taco trio can be made to order as any combination of the three meats that the customer would prefer as well. Its a prime location for parades they start there and you can usually get amazing views there. I highly recommend the churros and i will be very upset to see this refurbished if it does happen because we need mexican quick service 🤧
