It would be interesting to look at where you normally sit when the dam is at 100%, and have a look now where you fish at say 100mtr what the ground looks like, if structure or soil structure makes a difference where fish graze/feed. Is it depth of water that makes a difference or soil/structure that creates certain feeding areas for fish?
