Oh, Allie. You succeeded beautifully in interpreting a 60’s look. I was there and it brought back memories. Yes, we did twiggies- not only with the mascara but sometimes we actually drew them in with brown eyeliner (which came in a rectangular cake form about 2 inches long) too on the lower lash line 5 or 6 about 1/2 a cm apart. We really had mostly mattes. I can’t remember any shiny shadows. Thanks for the trip back in time. Kids today look at their grandmothers , of which I am one, and don’t think we relate but we lived through exciting times and there was literally a revolution in fashion and makeup. All these years later and I still enjoy learning new tricks and styles even though as one gets older we have to make adjustments in our makeup. Less is more now- at least for me.

I was a teen in the early '70s, and can remember a lot of the brands that were used in the '60s-'70s - Biba, Mary Quant, Yardley, Miners, No 17. Yardley could make a lot of money if they brought back Pot O'Gloss!

This is my fave retro review. I have a light skin tone, though different in undertone/slightly darker skin but you nailed the 60s look and what, in my opinion, is the intention of this palette. Fresh clean, opening the eye up look. Beautiful.
Hi Allie! I'd love for you to try some Korean eyeshadow palettes.
I've found that their glitter formula is quite different from typical "western" shimmers or glitters. Korean style glitters usually have a translucent pearl base and smaller, less dense glitter bits. This makes the glitters very wearable, they are really sparkly but the make up doesn't appear heavy. Gives the eyes much more dimension too than some shimmers which can feel "flat".
Ever since I found that out, I gravitate much more to Korean eyeshadow palettes because I really love the glitter formulas! Sadly Korean brands and eyeshadows are usually catered to lighter skin tones, they're not as universal. But I'd still really like to see how you utilize those shadows 😶

Can you give us an idea about some brands that might be available in the US. The pressed glitters in palettes here in the US are not very “eye friendly” at least not on my eyes. I would love to try the Korean brands. I really love their skin care.
Yes I bought a beautiful palette from dear dahlia BUT the model on the website was much lighter than me, although I’m pretty light myself. I wish I could get the same look she had bc it’s BEAUTIFUL but I couldn’t get the same effect since I’m a bit more brown/tan. I’m still trying to experiment with it but it’s still not the same. Gorgeous palette. A lot smaller than it looked online but still really pretty. I saw a video tutorial on it and that girl was about the same color as the model and on her the shadows showed up beautifully.
This is the only palette I have with these shades of colours, always having avoided pink, mauve and burgundy's like the plague. I have to admit I was very cautious at first, but I'm so glad I took the plunge and bought it, and now I LOVE it. Definitely a stunning palette ❤.

I feel like the only thing I wish this palette had was a green or two! That’s such a fun part of the mini retro palette.
Agreed! I am in love with the mini Retro, and specifically bought it for the green/olive colors.

My favorite videos on tiktok and insta are those decade inspired looks. I would love it if you did a more in depth version of it! Talking about the different shapes and potential products they may have used. Kinda like a history of makeup and doing looks similar while explaining!!

This is one I may pick up at some point. I want the Glam palette as well. I have the Love and the Bronze palettes and I think they are very pretty but I don't use them as often as I thought I would. Maybe like once or twice a month. I think I would get so much more use out of this palette or the Glam. Oh Allie this is one of my all time favorite looks you have done!!! Gorgeous!!
I got the Retro palette on release day and I've been surprised how much I've used it. It is really nice. I am starting to just go back to my Tati Beauty palette (dark brown in the outer V tan in the crease) for quick looks when I have an 8 AM meeting for work.

I love the look you created. It's not my style but I get what you were going for..that retro vibe. I absolutely love Natasha Denona's palettes. I have the Retro ,the Glam ,the Bronze ,the Love and countless mini palettes. I'd rather spend my money on an expensive palette that I know will work amazingly well than on a palette that is some what good or just mediocre.

Absolutely stunning! I just purchased this palette, and it's the most money I ever spent on eyeshadow! The colors are so gorgeous, though, that I couldn't resist. I'd love to see you create some everyday looks with this palette (especially ones more mature women could pull off). Can't wait to see what else you can do with it!
You did a great job with the ‘60’s look. Perfect, really. Your eyes are the perfect shape and size for the look. Your natural coloring was coveted, along with unnatural tan looks. We didn’t wear lip pencil, using the lipstick to line the lips instead. If you want to add something that was crazy popular, use a super frosted, pastel lipstick. It looks awful, but it was haute back then. An exaggerated wing on the eye made with black, liquid liner was as popular then as it is now, in case you want to try another retro-ish look. The currently popular bright oranges and pinks were also popular then on the eyes. Everything comes back around.
You nailed it! Lipstick was usually frosted and eyes had the “doe” look with tons of mascara and heavy black liner. LOL
@@julieagarcia6259 , and our liquid liner came from adding water (or spit) to a cake. Everyone used Maybelline eyebrow pencils for our brows and some used them to draw on eyelashes. Let’s not forget the flowers drawn on our skin a la Goldie Hawn on Laugh-in. Crazy days!

Omg, yes! I would love it too! I adore this concept of smokey eye but never manage to make it work. I think my burgundy eyeshadows are not as pigmented as I wanted them to be

It’s a beautiful 🤩 pallet & timeless for sure …Dupe for it but has Mauve warm tones … which are also timeless is Make-up Revolution Reloaded Proactive.
The ND pallet of course her formula especially her mattes are creamier but the Revolution is gorgeous as well & if your on a budget it’s perfect.

I ordered the bundle of the retro and glam palettes. I didn't think I'd be too into the glam but it's nice to have some neutrals even when you're a rainbow like myself lol, but I use the glam palette a lot honestly. If I'm just doing a quick simple look it's my go to lately. I'm in love with the retro. I think it's more beautiful in person than in photos and it has great cooler toned berries. I love them both and regret nothing hahaha.
