I could be wrong, but did he not say 256 blocks from the top to bottom? I mean, that stack I built was exactly 256 blocks, so it should "work" even if the world height was changed
i dont think spawning a snow layer on ice with a command block really counts as "placing" the snow layer
also about the going to the bottom thing at 6:21 ,his video was possibly before the build height got extended,seeing as there is no deepslate in this world (although he could be in 1.17)

i think you should change the style of the thumbnail on these types of videos that are showing if the mc tips are true or false
