    I love using 3D modeling but it is tough to beat making a prototype out of simple materials. Its especially nice when you can use the parts of the prototype as templates for the real ones.

    • @SailLife
      @SailLife  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Makes sense :) Also in this case, it's important to me that the expansion of the locker doesn't make sitting at the chart table uncomfortable. That's easy to check with a "real" prototype :)

    Welcome back. Good news, bad news regarding the JOB. Remember good times as well as the positive encounters while looking forward to new friends, associates with the advantage of doing what you enjoy. Advancing your personal network and circle of friends is a very good thing. Have you considered mounting the D.C. Distribution panel left of chart table parallel to the overhead? A bottom hinge would facilitate dropping it down for easy access. Panel will still offer easy operational access to all switches and breakers. Chart table real estate is so limited, every square inch counts. There would be minimal additional cable to the overhead position. Looking forward to tour next video. Be safe.

    I love the abra net it works fantastic! I've painted 5 boats an switched after the 2nd boat and won't go back. It never gums up and lasts an extremely long time so you save time during the work not constantly switching out the paper. I'm pretty sure its not accident its the same size the manufacturers know the standard size of shop vac hoses and for the last several years most of the sanders I've seen have had that size of filter adapters on them. I love your boat work and aspire to some day do that quality of interior work. Interior is definitely my weakest boat work area. Exterior paint and gelcoat, fiberglass, diesel, electronics, electrical are all areas where I've had a ton of practice on my cheap sailboats. I always buy a boat that needs work lol.

    congratulations on the new job. when you move to the new marina perhaps that can be filmed from throwing lone to mooring up in the new home berth. would be cool to see. Might even give you a chance to play with time laps. Have to say I truly look forward to your videos every Sunday and was surprised at how much I missed your personality and progress when you have to attend to other aspects of your life and a weekend is missed. keep up the great work.

    Have you considered putting the DC distribution panel on an angle instead of 90 deg to the panel with the AC panels and monitor? That would be one way to avoid a clash with the monitor bezel when opening the DC distribution panel for work. May also make working on the panel easier from the edge of the Nav Station desk in the future. Folks with CAD programs may be chuckling, but there are at least two of us using some form of fiberboard and painters tape to make prototypes that work.

    Looks like it'll be fantastic! One question though, why not provide a hinge to the panel along the inside vertical edge? Get the panel open almost 90*, still have great access. Panel would open to a position that faces the position of the monitor and maybe save some space too. Just wondering. Congratulations on your excellent progress and change of life.

      Thank you :) I've lived in Aarhus for 7 years :) It'll be fun to go back! I wonder if my favorite restaurants from when I was at university are still around :P
