I was born in Betkhnay in the Jabil and moved away with my family after the civil war in the 80s. I’ve only had the luxury to visit once.. I cried on the plane ride back. I have never felt more at home. My people of Lebanon, you are so loved. Such humble, hard working, God loving people. Your videos Anthony are so dear to my heart. I understand and speak Lebanese fluently but I wish there were closed caption English translation because there are words that I don’t quite understand but can interpret though context. Thank you! Hope you will go to the jebil soon!
51:52 Such an important message & lesson from this inspiring council member - he says: “As Lebanese we must not sit & wait for the country to be in a better situation, we must instead work within our villages, every village and its people work on making its village a model village like we have here, through putting in place solar power, zero waste, chlorination and investing in the ways we have like you’ve seen with us today, to keep people in the village, give them work opportunities & let them operate their small businesses in the village etc. We need to think of Lebanon as a puzzle, & every village as a piece of the puzzle and so if we each focus on making our villages better, so they can self-sustain, then we can put the puzzle together and it can be the model Lebanon, the better Lebanon of tomorrow we all desire. We have been supported by donations from abroad, from the Diaspora. That’s what will help us all achieve the same positive outcome in our respective villages all over the country.”
ابطال. Heroes ❤❤❤ Generations to come will be grateful to you for documenting all this little known beauty, these inspiring stories, important history & for your tireless efforts to influence people’s mindsets by highlighting the important of going back to our roots & traditions & retaining our stronghold on our land through basic things like 41:16 “ensuring every village has its own co-operative run by the village’s women specialised in making specialty artisanal food products & mouneh of that village.”

I admire your passion with church bells and I am intrigued to ask if you have ever researched bells beyond Lebanese ones. I have never thought of checking or even asking who built our church bells in Jordan :)
1:19:00 English translation: Anthony: “Magnificence. Beauty.” Marc: “Thank you.” Anthony: “What can one say? If only the walls could speak.” Marc: “These Devine old houses, they’re so beautiful. Why did we stop making our homes this way, it’s unbelievable how simple yet beautiful all this around us is.” Anthony: “Details, precision, all done properly, wood, doors, windows, all these small details that those before us made. Life’s advancements have encouraged people to become lazier, when we should be going back to the days of old when we lived this way. Let’s throw this to our future generations - let’s see if with all the advancements in technology, AI, ChatGPT etc, if they will invent something that will enable the walls, doors, handles to speak and tell us these stories of old, of how much these places have endured over time and the eventful, painful history of Lebanon, which survived through so much.”
Thanks for watching. ❤ Using organic lemons is best. Wash well. Cut into wedges, add sugar then using your hands mix really well, pressing the sugar into the lemons and the juice to come out. Add water. Add a few drops of rose blossom water. Refrigerate & enjoy cold. 🙂
This is another amazing video that should have subtitles. Anthony, do you need help with creating subtitles for this or any other videos. I was told that there is a current plan or ongoing efforts to create subtitles. If there is any way I can help, please let me know
Yes!! The English translation subtitles are a must! I don’t want to miss anything you or the wonderful people of lebanon are saying!! The visuals are spectacular but the conversations are so important 🤍
