A large cold space will take a long while to heat up with this, especially with the cold air coming in under the garage door. It needs a 4" x 4" opening for ventilation; I run a dryer vent hose to it from outside and have a small vent in the door, more than enough, and it'll heat my 12' x 20' garage up in about an hour on high, then keep it warm enough on low. But yeah, until then you gotta put it right next to you to get any warmth.
my cousin got this same model for his workshop and it was a huge disappointment. it felt like it would only work in a really small space, and in a space that small it would feel unsafe.

After the video I kept this on my toolbox. It did an OK job as long as I was 2 feet from it. It is truly designed for a very small space
