I was too focused on sharing methods and just remembered to share with you guys my top 5 goals for 2023😜: 1. Finish my thesis. 2. Language learning: focus on Arabic and German and maintain my level of Persian and Turkish. Bring Fusha Arabic and German to the academic level. Finish all the basics of C1 and be able to read articles, hold speeches, and participate in academic discussions in both languages. 3. Grow the channel to 500K. Upload a new video every two weeks. Create high-quality and valuable content. 4. Do meditation every day and improve my concentration. 5. Gain 5 kg of muscle. I would love to hear about your goals :)🥰🤩
Awesome, I wish you the best in your goals ☺️🙏🏻. Mine are: 1. Being able to do at least 5 pullups with good form. 2. Lowering my fat percentage to make my abs visible, but not so much that they're well defined. 3. Increasing my overall strength and improve the weight I can use in all exercises. 4. Be able to watch movies and videos on Italian without having to pause often. 5. Be more productive and consistent with all my goals and projects. 6. Create my social media accounts to share my writing and photography and at least upload two times a week. 7. Have a romantic relationship. 8. Increase my flexibility to be able to touch my feet and hopefully do a split. 9. Find balance so I don't get overwhelmed with chatting or interacting with other people.
For 2023, I would like to become fluent in my mother tongue which is European Portuguese and would also like to continue learning French until I reach fluency. After I would like to learn Tagalog or Polish xx I also want to finish my education and continue my piano grades. I want to be closer to God because He helps me and loves me and encourages me to do the above because He is interested in what I am interested in💙
My language goals for 2023: - Pass the C1 exam in Polish + speak with my Polish husband only in Polish. I want to completely ban English from our home. We will speak French as well because I am French and he is learning it too, but English needs to go. - Pass DELE B2 exam in Spanish + read a novel in Spanish + speak Spanish with my online friends on a regular basis. - I just started learning Japanese, so my only goal is to reach N5 level, with a focus on comprehension before anything else. I like exams, they give me something to reach for and ideas on what to study. But I know they don't represent the whole picture. Apart from English, French and Polish, I don't 'need' to speak another language. I want to learn others mostly out of cultural interest, so comprehension skills are the most valuable to me.
Hi, I'm Polish and husband part of your comment just melted my heart, since I also have spouse from other country and I learn his language as well!! (he speaks Spanish). I wish you achieved your goals (your comment is 10 months long in the moment I'm writing this) and I hope you are happy with your husband
My biggest obstacle, especially in the new year when I’m re-evaluating and planning, is decision paralysis. I feel it is a monumental task to choose which languages to focus on when there are so many I genuinely want to learn. I struggle more with this decision than with actually studying, which I am very adept at after taking 5 languages in college. I’m facing the same dilemma again for 2023 with no resolution in sight. I’ll think I’ve made a “final decision” but a day or two later question my decision and feel compelled to change my mind 😢
YOU ARE NOT ALONE! ✋🏾😓 I am guilty of the same thing! I want to travel to Italy and Japan this year and I constantly tell myself I am gonna learn the basics so that I do not feel too touristy. Guess what? I have been saying that for over 10yrs and nothing has ever come of it 😫! I have so many language learning books that have accumulated over the years that are still in mint condition not even cracked at the spine because I just cannot find my start 😭. It is me, I know but still if I can find the willpower to start at go then I will be fine, however, it is difficult when I don't know what, when, how, and where to start first because I am too indecisive about where to begin😭😭😭😭!
My solution for this was setting "achievable" goals for each one. I'm simultaneously studying 4 languages right now and all of them are so different from my native language in terms of structure. I've set different goals and learning period for each of them based on their difference from my native language. This way, I didn't have to give up any of them. At first, I thought if studying multiple languages would decelerate my progress in each one, but then I realized studying more than one is giving me some kind of motivation actually. So what I mean is you don't have to decide in my opinion, our mind is capable of studying as much as we want and we can reshape our day around our goals just like Zoe does. There is always time left for more learning if we want to :)
Maybe you should start with the easiest first. Italian uses the English alphabet, for the most part. It is easiest to learn *how to learn* languages by studying the easiest language first. Italian can be learned in only a few months. Japanese will take a couple of years. It is completely different from English, has multiple alphabets (or sets of characters), and English doesn't borrow from Japanese the way it does from Italian. Find a couple of Italian TV shows to binge watch. Once you get to the place where you can passively watch TV and have conversations with natives without much trouble. You are ready to level up to Japanese. Now, you need to focus on learning characters and new sounds, the culture, and how it affects language. Spend a few years intensely studying. And maybe every week(more or less), spend some time brushing up on your Italian by watching some television or listening to a podcast. Your brain can learn to compartmentalize and not confuse you! The languages are very different, so it isn't like learning Spanish or Portuguese and Italian at the same time
OMG You have no idea, I"m EXACTLY the same way. I always think I've narrowed down my list to the final languages I'll learn and change my mind just literally hours, days later. I think the best thing is to ask yourself what you TRULY want to learn and not compare to others. like letting go of a language is so hard for me. but it was honestly destroying my mental health so. i had to say goodbye to some...would be interested to hear your thoughts on this! what languages are you currently studying?
Improve these languages to C2: Pashto(C1) Persian(B1) Arabic(B1) French(B1) Learn to intermediate: Spanish(A1) Mandarin(A1) Russian(A1) Pray that Allaah guides Zoe for she is kind and open minded to the truth. Would love your tip on how to achieve it if u got suggestions.

All the best to you Zoe, keep up the good work, stay happy and motivated and most importantly stay gefährlich ! 😁😎
My Language Goals for 2023: Korean: Pass TOPIK I Level 2 Spanish: Achieve A2 Japanese: Memorize Hiragana & Katakana and recognized them easily While watching this I realized how vague the language goals I wrote and I feel so inconsistent despite of seeing some progress because of the I don't have very specific goal, plan and not properly tracking my progress. Will now revising my goals. Thank you so much Zoe. Your videos always help me a lot on how I tackle my own language journey 💖
@@ruarieaglestone i want to set it easy this time since i have been studying on and off at japanese and i just want to really solidify my memorization to them and take my time to them very slowly.
I don't set strict goals in language learning, because if one fails to achieve them, it results in a disappointment. I have a very general goal like this, my 2023 goal: In French, right now I am transitioning from A2 to B1 level, so as soon as I reach a level where I can read a paragraph in news and general media at a slow pace. I will start learning a new language too. My eyes are on an Asian language this time. Haven't decided yet, its so hard to pick, whatever I see, I want to learn it all 😂
My language goals for 2023: - Improve my English skills to B2 or C1 - Get a Chinese HSK 3 level -Start Rusian again Maybe they are not specific enough, but these are my goals for this year, and maybe start a new language, Thank you so much for your videos, I love you Zoe you inspire me so much.
Thank you for this video, amazing as always! Hello Zoe! I'd love to hear about your journey in learning some of your languages in particular (like French or Arabic for example), if you'd ever want to do a video about this
Hi Zoe! I wish everything will be the best for you and your family in 2023. I would like to show my gratitude to your amazing videos about language learning and life experience sharing. You just like an another me living in the parallel world with all dreams came true. I picked up my Arabic these days, after putting this language aside for 3 years, fortunately, I still have most of them in my brain, I just have to find them out from the corner. I Hope to find a chance to work and live in Middle Eastern country again. Best Wishes and Stay Safe!
This video was so interesting, not only to set goals related to language learning, but also to setting goals in general. On top of that, I often feel like my studies make it almost impossible to do things outside of them (I do work and have 2 physical activities a week), but it's nothing compared to you. Therefore, it's really interesting to see how you combine your busy life with learning 6 languages, and it's really inspirational :). I find it hard to set goals for 2023 as I'll graduate my Master's LEA in 2024, and therefore hope to achieve the C2 level in both English and German, and will most probably travel to Latin America by the end of it. German: 1 hour conversation classes to challenge myself speaking about topics not related to Germany. We've been talking about natural disasters, diseases, accidents, etc, and it made me realise there's still a lot of room for improvement. I also want to continue watching Tagesschau on a daily basis. Spanish: 2 hour classes on grammar, vocab, and conversation. My Spanish is rusty as I only obtained the B1 level recently, so I still struggle a lot. My tutor made me talk to his 13 years old niece, and we had a nice, basic conversation, but it'd be nice if I can talk about more difficult things too. I don't feel like I must set goals for English or French because I live in France, and use English on a daily basis too. :)
Really really interesting video!! you always make on order and clear some ideas I have and give me new ones to learn and progress! thank you so much 🥰 ...for my goals I have a B2 in French, I want to reach a C1 this year and a B2 in English! I want to take some time to find my method and to do a schedule, I'll try to progress in the same time so I stay in the same level at least, the time I start with my schedule! thank you again Zoe 💛
I am in the good and weird position to be at a stage at all of my languages where I can focus on native content and outputing it quite fast after a couple of weeks. I havent really studied my romance languages in a while (italian, french, spanish and portuguese) which are all in the B zone so I would like to give it a shot and take them to solid B and maybe 1 of them in the C zone!
I want to learn new languages in this year such as Portuguse and Italian etc. Thank you so much for this nice video, Lovely Zoe. I hope you can reach your all dreams in 2023
This is a very motivating video! Thank you for the tips! I just discovered this channel, but I will definitely need to discover more! As another language enthusiast, I am very envious of being able to be fluent in so many languages! I absolutely have to set my goals as well now! 😅😅
This is super helpful! I found you a couple of months ago and thanks to you I decided to try learning Greek again. Will set my goals for B1 level in Greek and to be able to have daily full conversations in Greek by the end of the year 😊Trying to choose an online course to begin and Lingoda unfortunately doesn't have the Greek language. Would appreciate if you suggest an alternative
Zoe, I really like your videos. It's so fabulous. By the way sorry,if I make a mistake my level in english is not that good but I am happy with it.THANK YOU.
great video i will try it out! 💖💖 also could you make a video about how to learn Chinese since you are a native speaker please that will be very helpful and thanks once again

Thank you so much for your awesome lesson. I learned what do my goal. My goal is to C1 level English to achieve this year. I learned a lot of things from this video. I mistake in my grammar part. How to find out my mistake? I don't know any idea. Please help me.
I love orcas. I'm preparing myself to swim with them next winter. They also have an amazing language system. Their vocals are beautiful. Any tips on how to learn an orca language? 😂
I love your channel and videos as always! Zoe, could you please give some advice on something - how do we attain proficiency with a language, is it one at a time? Is that better than trying to master 4 languages at once? I worry if I don't study all languages then I'll forget the ones I have already studied. Is it okay to put the ones I've already studied, kind of like...on hold and focus on the one I want to improve upon, THEN I can always go back to the other ones later?
I arrived in Nanjing one month ago, and I will be at my Chinese girlfriend's home and celebrating with her parents this spring festival. Which city you are in, Zoe?
Do you have any tips for learning a new language that there aren't a lot or resources for? I am an American who wants to learn Irish, but I am finding a lot of difficulties find resources because I have no experience with Ireland and there isn't a huge Irish speaking population. How do you go about finding new language resources especially if you don't know anyone who actually speaks the language?
Ciao Zoe ☺️ Thanks a lot for this video, it's super useful and I'll make my goal setting today. Curiously I never thought that the method SMART could be used in all aspects of life, I just saw it as a tool for managing business projects 😅
I truly need to reach to C1 in English this year but I feel it hard because I'm in the last grade in the high school. Would you mind giving me a piece of advice on how I can learn a language in this situation and I am an old follower on your channel
If you are exam-oriented, it is important to set up an intensive learning session every day or every two days to study your exam material. You can also develop many small habits to do Anki cards, listening podcasts and watching videos to create an immersive environment. I hope it will be useful!
Thanks for your videos which I found them useful ! Could you please make a video about practicing speaking skill with a partner?how we can schedule our practicing?
Thanks for this Zoe! For me, I hope to continuously improve in my Spanish going from a B1 to a B2. Can I ask, what are your goals for 2023? Especially in connection to languages 😊
Hello dear ❤I love your videos so much, I have a question please if you could answer me,I would be so grateful 😢❤😘 I've been living in Italy for six months and I want to learn Italian Spanish french for my future opportunities in life as you mentioned before! I'm almost beginner in all of them and I don't know how to start 🤦🏼♀️ Can you please give me some advice 🙏🥺
1) Find reference grammar websites (Wiki) & books for each language (But each language’s unique culture words so need articles, websites, books, videos.) 2) To find booksi in each language that teach a different one. For example examples translation & French. Italian Spanish. French etc. Books must have target language new sentences & translation sentences, thus offer any 2 languages at any 1 time. Buena suerte! buon fortuna! Bonne chance!
@@zoe.languages Thank you very much Zoe, I was very unmotivated, and this was just what I needed. Thank you for each of your videos, which cheer me up every day
1) To find each language’s reference grammars, websites (Wiki, etc.) & books 2) To find books in 1 language to teach the other. German explanation & German translations of Spanish new words in sentences. Vice versa Spanish explanations l& Spanish translations & new German sentences
hi.this is the first time I've seen you. i don't think you have a video in English. i want to learn English. i'm wondering if there are any resources that you can recommend to me?

I hope you can reach your all dreams in 2023
You too 🤗🤗🤗
Am I the only one who is really interested in the bookshelf in the background? I'd looooove to see a bookshelf tour!
A mtivating video, Thank you,
This is a very motivating video! Thank you for the tips! I just discovered this channel, but I will definitely need to discover more! As another language enthusiast, I am very envious of being able to be fluent in so many languages! I absolutely have to set my goals as well now! 😅😅
Welcome!!
Hello, I am a follower from Iraq, a new follower 🇮🇶😊

This is super helpful! I found you a couple of months ago and thanks to you I decided to try learning Greek again. Will set my goals for B1 level in Greek and to be able to have daily full conversations in Greek by the end of the year 😊Trying to choose an online course to begin and Lingoda unfortunately doesn't have the Greek language. Would appreciate if you suggest an alternative

Thank you so much for your awesome lesson.

I love orcas. I'm preparing myself to swim with them next winter. They also have an amazing language system. Their vocals are beautiful. Any tips on how to learn an orca language? 😂
I'm very excited
I am from Guangxi ☺️
Great video!
Thank you for this!
I think my goal for Chinese is to reach at least HSK4 in Chinese and immerse in Chinese media!
This video was wonderful
Do you have any tips for learning a new language that there aren't a lot or resources for? I am an American who wants to learn Irish, but I am finding a lot of difficulties find resources because I have no experience with Ireland and there isn't a huge Irish speaking population. How do you go about finding new language resources especially if you don't know anyone who actually speaks the language?
Hey zoe, can you share your spotify playlists with us?
thank you for that video 💖
Ciao Zoe ☺️
Thanks a lot for this video, it's super useful and I'll make my goal setting today. Curiously I never thought that the method SMART could be used in all aspects of life, I just saw it as a tool for managing business projects 😅
yeah, why not? 😉

I truly need to reach to C1 in English this year but I feel it hard because I'm in the last grade in the high school. Would you mind giving me a piece of advice on how I can learn a language in this situation and I am an old follower on your channel
Find a language exchange
If you are exam-oriented, it is important to set up an intensive learning session every day or every two days to study your exam material. You can also develop many small habits to do Anki cards, listening podcasts and watching videos to create an immersive environment. I hope it will be useful!
Thanks a lot
Thanks for your videos which I found them useful ! Could you please make a video about practicing speaking skill with a partner?how we can schedule our practicing?
You can check out this video th-cam.com/video/8ZqDgCTmk94/w-d-xo.html .Don’t hesitate to ask if you still have questions
Thankyou very much madam 🌹🌹,
Your videos always motivates me. ت
Thanks for this Zoe! For me, I hope to continuously improve in my Spanish going from a B1 to a B2.
Can I ask, what are your goals for 2023? Especially in connection to languages 😊
I wrote them in the comment 😉
Hello dear ❤I love your videos so much, I have a question please if you could answer me,I would be so grateful 😢❤😘
I've been living in Italy for six months and I want to learn Italian Spanish french for my future opportunities in life as you mentioned before! I'm almost beginner in all of them and I don't know how to start 🤦🏼♀️
Can you please give me some advice 🙏🥺
1) Find reference grammar websites (Wiki) & books for each language
(But each language’s unique culture words so need articles, websites, books,
videos.)
2) To find booksi in each language
that teach a different one.
For example
examples translation &
French. Italian
Spanish. French etc.
Books must have target language
new sentences & translation sentences, thus offer any 2 languages at any 1 time.
Buena suerte! buon fortuna! Bonne chance!
English C1 And German A1
Thanks Zoe.🥺✨
You’re welcome 😊
@@zoe.languages Thank you very much Zoe, I was very unmotivated, and this was just what I needed. Thank you for each of your videos, which cheer me up every day

not when I am avoiding reviewing management for tomorrow's final and see that thumbnail.
😂😂
do yyou track your goals on Notion? if not ,where?
On Notion yes
hi.this is the first time I've seen you.
i don't think you have a video in English.
i want to learn English.
i'm wondering if there are any resources that you can recommend to me?
Zoe, upon learning 7 languages, is it still safe to assert that Arabic is the most difficult language you've learnt? :)
Yes 😂😂😂 it’s still difficult
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Careful for the french translation, we don't say "réalistique" mais "réaliste".
