  • An exercise in collective inquiry and digital humanities.
    This lecture takes place between the French publication of Bruno Latour's An Inquiry into Modes of Existence: An Anthropology of the Moderns and the full version of the digital platform in English that allows the inquiry to unfold. This lecture will present the project both in its content - an anthropology of the moderns - and in its procedure - an exploration of the possibility of digital tools to develop academic books as well as collective research.

    Hi and with apologies for the huge delay. He was planning on showing the platform prototype, but it just wasn't ready. I've added the abstract in the video description now though. Better late than never, I hope!

    This would benefit considerably from Latour executing a Modes of PowerPoint project. I feel sure he made more than the point that the West can be seen as arrogant in regard to native and pre-civilisational cultures, but I got lost in the whistlestop tour of philosophical abstractions of existential value. An abstract that includes the phrases "In this lecture Latour" and "concludes that " would be very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
