    Vlad is a madman on the kit. I feel like he was the final piece of the puzzle to give this band the push they needed to reach the peak.

    • @horscategorie
      @horscategorie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes. I do still like their music from Inhale, Do Not Breathe and Cloud Factory when they had two guitars, but without a doubt they have evolved and grown from that time, especially with the addition of Vlad. My opinion of course, but while King of Everything may have been the breakout, there are still great tunes on their even earlier works. Scissors is an excellent example from early Jinjer.
      Still my favorite band, even if I can't get anyone to go to shows with me. Some people just don't get it... Their loss, what a shame.

      @Mike Goyette I have the hardest time getting people to go to shows with me. Granted most the music I like is very heavy but even Band-Maid was a struggle. I mean as soon as they find out it's a Japanese band that dresses like maids...nevermind the music is solid, fun rock.

    I love this band and Vortex is one of their best. Very satisfying sound and brutally relevant lyrics. I did not know that anyone else experienced their "inner trash storm" this way. Fighting the trash monster demon is apparently something that lots of us do, at varying levels. Instructional videos on mental health are rarely this good.

    Fuckkk I forgot about Vortex! Have been looking forward to this ever since you started on your Jinjer journey. So much in this song. And just gets better after each listen obviously. As always, your take and dissection is so informative and enjoyable to watch. I also think you’ll get a lot out of watching the bass and drum playthroughs for this, even in your own time.
    “Wallflower” is a really good shift from this which I think you’ll appreciate, and “Call Me A Symbol” is then on the complete other side of that, absolutely brutal.

    One thing I didn't notice about Vlad until fairly recently - while playing, he never crosses his arms. Ever. As far as I can tell, anyway. He is completely ambidextrous while playing (if he's keeping beat with the high hat, he's playing the snare with his right hand, if he's keeping beat with the ride, he's playing snare with his left).

    Hey Chase, another great reaction/analysis video. I was also blown away by the groove and sound of Vlad's drum beat at the beginning of the song. You can definitely hear jazz/fusion influences in his playing with the ghost notes, syncopation and tight, controlled snare sound (like a marching snare) and I can't think of any other metal drummer, or rock/pop/country drummer for that matter, that has a similar sound/style. Eugene and Roman also sound fantastic, as usual, and the undisputed metal vocal goddess, Tatiana, delivers another consistently engaging, powerful performance. I also think they have probably the best production, not just in metal, but any genre of music. I'm counting down the days until I see them perform live at the House of Blues in Boston on November 20'th and I'm getting more and more psyched!

    If this is the first track that you have heard from the Wallflowers album the you are in for a treat. Every song on the record is amazing and as whole it hangs together wonderfully. All the songs are through composed so that it feels much more like a classical piece with 11 movements than a metal album. It’s my favourite album from last year and I like all kinds of music.
    One excellent track from the album is the title track Wallflower. It’s well worth reacting to. th-cam.com/video/DYZrO7qcLhU/w-d-xo.html

    Come on Chase. You've got to do some of the new Polyphia album. I can't stop listening to Chimera. Ego Death is also amazing.

    Of all the things you could have compared you love to, banana bread was not on the list. LOL Didn't see that coming at all.

    Now that I've watched the whole reaction, I'm going to tell you something that you didn't notice about this song: it has no chorus. 😉

    Every time i hear this band i really want to like them. But i never do. Her clean vocals lack depth and soul. Sounds too flat for my liking. The growls and musicality is pretty good. But her voice ruins it for me.

      Wow, I mean, everybody is entitled to one's own opinion, but this really is astonishing. I cannot think of any other singer in metal with more soul than tatiana. Even comparing Floor with Tatiana I would immediately say Tati. Many have better technicality than Tati (e.g. Floor, or Brittney Slayes, or ....you name it.. there are a lot) but Tatiana really stands out for me. And I am not even talking about her growls. The singing alone is so recognizable, immediately, and transports so much emotion and energy.... I don' t know.
