The show & toys came out just as I was completing high school. Myself and my other anime & comic nerd peers either enjoyed the show or embraced it as a source of satire - often both! I only had one toy from the line, which was a gift from a friend in said spirit of satire - Mum Ra. Not exactly my style, but it was well made and very screen-accurate.
I was right in the target demo, had a bunch of figures, and can report that some figures or elements thereof were not really screen accurate :) Mumm-ra's face and head ornament... really? The Sword of Omens and the Clawshield being red instead of anything near gold...The design for the kittens space board? Jaga? The scaling amongst the figures (and the Thundertank, for that matter)? A lot of things were a bit off. Screen accuracy became more on point with revisits to nostalgic IP in the past decade or so. Back in the day, toy and show design could deviate for several reasons and Thundercats was no exception. There were nice things about the toy line and the show itsself is very nice.
Did you grow up with LJN Thundercats toys in the 80s?
Who was your favourite action figure?

I was also a little old for toys in '85 and yes they were very cartoon accurate! Thanks for watching.
