Hello again, everyone! Thanks so much for watching. Please let me know what you thought and also how I can improve! Editing has never been my strong suit, no matter how hard I try, but I am always willing to improve so you can enjoy the videos. :D
I couldn't see any editing issues here. You're just wandering around your library, showing what's there so you don't need fancy jump cuts etc... Your narration speaks for its shelf. (Sorry, terrible pun.)
I like the witchcraft books... I just found out about Christopher Lee's occult library, said to have 20,000 books. I would call that a dangerous addiction!
“Pop culture, death and the occult” should be the name of your autobiography. Welcome back to making videos, glad to see you in my subscription feed again.
@@CravingBooks27 Just has a better ring to it. I've had to write blurb for a couple of books so I find juggling words around can sometimes make an improvement.
Living Wicca, I used to have that too. I remember buying my first Wicca book, had to smuggle it inside my tshirt. Hehe as a teenager I also had one entitled “witch in the office.”
I adore your videos!! This was SO good. Also, 'van gogh' is actually pronounced like you did the second time, but with the final gh sound also at the beginning of gogh, to make it more difficult. :p
@@annakarlien1952 Ah sorry, I misread you. AFAIK there are four ways I have heard it pronounced - the first two are common among English speakers - I'd use the third, and the fourth is the proper one. Van Goh Van Goff Van Gokh Van Khokh
I had to get rid of most of my occult library. It brought me unwelcome experiences. I lent that Montague Summers book to a friend who never gave it back - his name now appears on Hollywood films, true story! p.s. I have been meaning to read (and watch) Valley of the Dolls for a long time. I suspect it is still relevant from what I know about it.
You had my curiosity but now you have my attention. I'm interested in learning what experiences you had, if it doesn't bring any unwelcome memories, of course. That also reminds me to revisit that Montague Summers book. ;)
@@CravingBooks27 Stuff moving, being poked in the back in the middle of the night, shadows, coming home to a very bad atmosphere that started as soon as I came in the door. I managed to get rid of it, with prayers, salt and some other stuff, as well as getting rid of some of the material. Occasionally things disappear and reappear, but that's probably as much to do with my home being messy. This is a 1990s home and I've been the only resident (except for a housemate briefly for a year or so) so the building doesn't have any other history. I also once got given a crudely photocopied tract (if that's the right word) of black magic by a friend who's into shamanism. I don't think the guy's bad or anything but I got an extremely bad feeling about that book when reading it and had to get of it within a few hours of bringing it home. I'm not really into the whole thing of cursing people, or try not to be. I remember earlier this year I had intensely bad feelings towards one of my neighbours because I looked out and saw the guy had blocked my driveway with his taxi yet again - I started wishing him ill, and then I was just going to sleep an hour or two later I see the blue lights of an ambulance outside his home, and I felt very guilty. The man's an arrogant ****, but I didn't really want him to die or be injured. My dad once wished a man dead and he died that night, similar thing happened to a man who scammed my mother... I've tried to move into a more positive space.
@@anonb4632 It occured to me I haven't replied to this message even though I read it a couple of times, lol. Sorry about that. I have heard many people who've experienced similar events when they were either practicing or just had occult books in the house. I can't imagine how scary that would be, and it's understandable you would move away from that. I especially think the manifestation of wishing ill will on people is quite frightening.
@@CravingBooks27 People come into the occult from different angles. Some do it for negative or selfish reasons, which have consequences. I think with me it was plain curiosity. There are some parts I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. I have read tarot and done dowsing but would never use a ouija board or try and contact spirits.
You had me at Death ad The Occult. Have you seen the TedTalk that Sue did? It's so enlightening. I freaking love Caitlin Doughty and her TH-cam channel is so interesting and informative.
Concerning the Devils Knot, that plea they had to take to get out was disgusting. The court Indirectly admitting they wrongingly accused them while still making them sign stuff saying they committed the crime (it was that or staying in jail). It's pretty sickening how easy it really is to get anyone thrown in jail for anything regardless of evidence etc...

I loved the editing! It was really well done imo
Thanks, Anna! There was a lot of troubleshooting. I don't know how professional editors don't want to break their computer. :P
Yay a new video! Loving it
Excellent!!
So many wonderful books

I love Christopher Lee. Not surprised he was into the occult.

Noted! Thanks, Michael. Let's see how long before I get disillusioned again. 😜
Can’t see that taking too long 😂
"Death, the Occult and Pop Culture" works better IMHO.
That's what it was originally! I thought I shouldn't scare people off with the first 2 words being DEATH and the OCCULT :P It's changed now.

Loved how you gave a bit of a description about the books and not just read the title!
I filmed a straight up bookshelf tour just reading the names and it put me to sleep before changing it up. Glad you enjoyed it!

That's how I say it, but if you want to be really nitpicky, in Dutch the first "g" would be guttural too.

I remember watching a few videos some years back about the proper pronunciation. I'm glad I got it right lol!
