Love it. When we moved from Alaska to Kentucky we bought a 1975 motor home that needed work. Husband did mechanical work and I did the clean up inside. Have fun
I remodeled a 29 ft Minnie Winnie a few years ago. I've traveled and lived in it for a couple of years, and still have it. It's so much fun. I just know you will do a great job and you will enjoy the makeover process. Have fun!
We remodeled a older camper years ago, and it turned out so cute. We camped in it for three years, and looking back it was our favorite camper. A lot of work but so much fun. Enjoy the ride!

From western Colorado to Gulf of Mexico, east to New Orland, up the east coast into Canada, down Michigan and back to Colorado.... So wonderful!! God bless you and for family ❤
Hi Elysia, my grain of salt for you, is that when u r removating the camper, always look for very light weight material. Adding weight is very easy to do, which will cost u on gas hugely when traveling. I wish u Lots of Fun Renovating n Traveling.

Perfect project I made over our first motorhome it was a challenge I had never reupholstered before, it came out better than I ever thought. We also had to run all new plumbing. I hate plumbing. You do what you need todo. And I loved that little motorhome . Have fun with this one. You will always have this memory.
I agree with those who say to water test it first so you don't spend reno time on something that's going to be damaged right off. Looking at the interior, there's not much you can change with the double bed as it is also the storage compartment. Not having the dining area may be a blessing. Looks like you could add a bunk bed there for the boys, keep moving room for the kitchen and still have room for more seating in the 'living' area. You could add clothing storage under the lower bed, one drawer for each boy. (I don't know the dimensions so the bunk may not work.) I am looking forward to your ideas of how you will utilize the interior space for your family.

Hi There! I have a camper trailer and it's almost Exactly the same! In that area across from the (fold down) couch you could add in a futon that folds down into a bed. This would give you extra sleeping space.
I have a wish to travel the US by trailer. Plus go on the longest garage sale. I also thought it would be cool to redo a trailer. I dont have a vehicle that could pull one so i would like to get one i can drive.

We have 2 vintage campers that we restored both the inside and outside. It is a lot of work but so much fun. Good luck and the end result will be wonderful.
I have a suggestion on that little cabinet in the bedroom section. You can remove that and on the other side of the wall you can insert a long cabinet as closet space for your clothes. So you can hang them up.
Our youngest (Dayton hes 8) always thinks of his big brother (Chase age 10) who loves peanut butter haha He was making sure we would have a spot for his fav food haha
Hi Elysia, Watching your joy and excitement while you work on your sweet camper is so much fun. Forgive me if I am stating the obvious, but I think lighting merits some thought. For instance, it might be smart to wire for separate low, wall-hung lamp next to where each of the boys will sleep. It would allow for separate sleep times without one disturbing the other. It might save on cell phone batteries if they each had a charger next to where they'll sleep so they could be plugged in while they used them. Other charging stations could also be planned for. Wiring for baseboard lights or for a table lamp or two might be nice at night rather than only having overheads. And, the bathroom looks like it needs some soft and "bright" ideas to avoid starkness and dreariness.
You are going to love renovating your caravan.....my diy projects started with transforming an RV & then caravans.... I still do it along with my furniture painting now
For extra sleeping...yes in the kitchen tear out that countertop. Make a table for dining with benches on both sides that can break down using the table and the benches that will fold down and double as a bed. We did that years ago with our 5th wheel and works out wonderful for our larger family. Anyways good luck and can't wait to see this transition. 👍😊

This is exactly what we have been wanting to do for a long time. We live in SW Florida and haven't seen hardly any of our country. Now that we are getting close to retirement, this is what we want to do. We are thinking of rehabbing a 5th wheel though. I can't wait to see what things you do!

How kewl !!! I'm so happy for you all !!! Hubby and I have camped for 30+ years with our son and when he moved out, we continued together. Tons and tons of good memories. We have done a bit of outside renos, but nothing like this, so I can't give you suggestions except to find any leaks you have on it right away. Wet bedding, food, floors are gross. I'd get a power washer or go to the self serve car wash and get some water on it to see if you have any leaks. We had a back window by our bed that leaked, and we woke up soaked, cold and soooo unhappy. Have fun !!!
We travelled & camped quite a bit across Ontario when my kids were younger. How much fun & adventurous - the trailer seems dated but in great shape - can't wait to see transformations
We are retired now, but have had a Nomad, a 5th wheel, a Jayco, Holiday Rambler, and 2 motor homes. Yes it's a lot of work, but worth it when you can do the work yourselves, but don't be afraid to talk to someone about the roof that knows the ins and outs. I hope you don't have to work on the heater, air conditioner, or converter. Hope all holding tanks are good, good hot water heater, gas tanks and stove & refrig. working and regulator (converters are pretty cheap and if it doesn't have one get one it will save on you batteries. Make sure you have a good battery for the lights. Many parks have nice showers, restrooms and camping spots, so always look at a spot before you pay for a night, and make sure it's level. .Awnings can be a real pain, we finally took the one we had off once and another time had one replaced...price little buggers. We actually found one once on the side of the road that had blown off and stopped to get it for parts. Much better to set up an umbrella or sun shade for us. Kids will love it, as well as grandkids :) Enjoy the ride and have fun with your new project, I know you can make it work . We traveled all over when our 3 boys were young. Our best memories were made in a camper very similar to yours. It was perfect. Last year I restored a 13ft 1984 UHaul camper from top to bottom. I had a great time working on it and now my husband and I do the empty-nester shuffle. Once again enjoying the great outdoors. Good luck, have fun, take pictures
You’re going to have a blast. We have done a couple. We started with one even smaller than this one. We camped in it one summer. Someone came along and wanted to buy it. We sold it and bought a little bigger one. We also only camped in it one summer. News traveled fast. People came by and wanted to see what we had done. It also sold. By then we had 5 kids and had made enough off those 2 for a good down payment on a nice one we could all stay in. Your kids will love all the adventures. Have fun. I can’t wait to see what you do.

Yes! Weight is a major consideration. ALSO, check for water damage and mold...trailers are notorious for leaking. Be safe! Have fun!

The axles determine how much weight they can haul and carry. Make sure y’all don’t over load them, they can break.

We are retired now, but have had a Nomad, a 5th wheel, a Jayco, Holiday Rambler, and 2 motor homes. Yes it's a lot of work, but worth it when you can do the work yourselves, but don't be afraid to talk to someone about the roof that knows the ins and outs. I hope you don't have to work on the heater, air conditioner, or converter. Hope all holding tanks are good, good hot water heater, gas tanks and stove & refrig. working and regulator (converters are pretty cheap and if it doesn't have one get one it will save on you batteries. Make sure you have a good battery for the lights. Many parks have nice showers, restrooms and camping spots, so always look at a spot before you pay for a night, and make sure it's level. .Awnings can be a real pain, we finally took the one we had off once and another time had one replaced...price little buggers. We actually found one once on the side of the road that had blown off and stopped to get it for parts. Much better to set up an umbrella or sun shade for us. Kids will love it, as well as grandkids :) Enjoy the ride and have fun with your new project, I know you can make it work . We traveled all over when our 3 boys were young. Our best memories were made in a camper very similar to yours. It was perfect. Last year I restored a 13ft 1984 UHaul camper from top to bottom. I had a great time working on it and now my husband and I do the empty-nester shuffle. Once again enjoying the great outdoors. Good luck, have fun, take pictures

You’re going to have a blast. We have done a couple. We started with one even smaller than this one. We camped in it one summer. Someone came along and wanted to buy it. We sold it and bought a little bigger one. We also only camped in it one summer. News traveled fast. People came by and wanted to see what we had done. It also sold. By then we had 5 kids and had made enough off those 2 for a good down payment on a nice one we could all stay in. Your kids will love all the adventures. Have fun. I can’t wait to see what you do.
Love the floor plan! Try to conserve your cabinets, you'll be amazed at how fast they fill up. And the more full sized refrigerator is a GREAT idea! Have fun.
