If he won the game he would be given the chance to see Naib again. But in his letter it says something about him having to trade some of his memory and identity (hence the mask) for this chance. When Jack becomes a hunter he meets Naib at the manor but Naib couldn’t recognise him. And after the match ended all their memories would be wiped clean again, so after Naib got sent to the dungeon he wouldn’t remember Jack in the next round. Lol was that confusing? Naib dragged his heavy body and crawled into a cemetery. With no strength left, he leaned on the nearest tomb. He traced his thin fingers along the face of this fragile being before cleaning away the tears Naib shedded. This made me realize every hunter is dead while every survivor was directly sent a letter and not for anybody else the survivors are either people who the hunter is close to or people who has cause their death so meaning if they win they get their life back but they will still be misrable
