I’m a Porsche guy but wanted to be part of owning the last V8 manual sedans. After test driving both I realized the CT4’s power was much more usable and balanced. The CT5 is overpowered and can’t really take advantage of that power because it’s real wheel drive and it just sits and spins. @@Swiggityswagger Actually sat in one a little while ago. Not really impressed by the interior quality. The CT4 actually seemed nicer to me, pretty much a step up in fact. I tend to focus on the center console, door cards, and touchpoints. Maybe the overall design is a little "dated," but sometimes oldschool is the best school (for me). What do you think of the Audi's interior quality?
If your main gripe is the size of the infotainment, we have very different priorities. If you find the rear seat space a deal breaker, again, different priorities. If you cross shop other sedans that are auto only like M340i or IS500, different priorities. A low option 6mt 4BW is hard to beat and has very few direct peers. The 5BW has extra power that you can't exploit on the street. On the track, the 5 pulls away hard on the straights and then the 4 reels it back in on the turns. First hand experience. The G80 M3 is over $10k more, I'll let the styling debate slide. First hand experience, the G80 is less of a drivers car, feels less special but the S58 is a more characterful engine. The Tremec shifts much better though closing up some drivetrain gap.
I got a 6-speed manual Pontiac G8 GXP (6.2L LS3, made in Australia!) new in March, 2009 and sold it to a friend about 185000 miles later in November, 2022, having used it as a daily driver the whole time and taken it across the US more than once. I pretty well knew that this wasn't going to be anything I could ever have or do again, it just wouldn't be affordable.

4 door Camaro. Sounds legit. Cadillac should focus on being a domestic (budget) Luxury vehicle instead of a premium parts bin vehicle. Then again, most people who buy Cadillacs care as much about Luxury as most Pony Car buyers care about performance.
'24 refresh is rumored to include the Lyriq-style gauge cluster/display. Having interacted with both the current setup and the Lyriq, which would you prefer for this vehicle?
They really f’d up not making a wagon version. If you have a family, you NEED a hatch. This is why SUV’s sell so well. They don’t sell well because they’re lifted 3”. People who say wagons don’t sell, it’s because car companies sabotage them. Wagons typically get the peasant spec and are slow, so people just buy the SUV because if neither is fun to drive you might as well go with the SUV for it’s extra 5-10% of space.
Great review! Glad this car works well on the street too. People also say this car is a better at the limit drive than the CTS-V CT5-VBW because its lighter.

The ATS-V had the titanium rods in both auto and manual. I think this helped save enough dough to keep the manual alive. They say the 10spd is so responsive it didn't need the rods. But I'm sure that just saved the money to put the good rods in the manuals
@@JamesonsDiecastCars I have no idea if this is true but I would guess that with the automatic and computer control, they can better guarantee that the drive train won't be abused as badly where the manual gives you complete control to annihilate it

@@jonell1425 haha, plenty of maintenance
I love the fact that you can clearly tell...that's a Cadillac from a mile away. I wish I could get one
Actually have a great Cadillac dealership by me. No markups, and even called me back after a while with a small discount on existing stock. Seems that there may be incentive to move these right now. Seriously thinking about it. I'm locked into 4 doors. This with a manual or an Audi RS 3?
rs3 has a more special engine. Everything else is better about the ct4v bw imo
This will be more rare in the long term.
If you can buy an RS3 for sticker hands down that. But, RS3's are almost non-existent in the US and the ones I've seen are going 20k over.
Awesome review as always. Thanks!
Absolutely perfect review
thank you for bringing up the addendums the dealers put on these
If your main gripe is the size of the infotainment, we have very different priorities.
Yeah if you like any of those better options you should go buy the better car... Like everyone seems to be doing.
@@728GT again, you are welcome to be wrong. I've driven or owned the competing cars. But sure, you sound like the expert.
Yeah, that Tony Romo's a real cowboy. God bless him.
Love the hell outta what Cadillac did with these cars. Just wish I liked Cadillac styling more..
Mentions the dealership mark-up on the CT-4 but doesn't mention that M3's are being marked up as much as $30k.
Jack redlining about the birds was hysterical 😂😂😂I’m dying
Well done, as always
Absolutely love the car and the color. It’s gorgeous.
That would go so well with your Z06, or even a CT5. May even get to use GM discounts too
If i could swing it(i cant) i would also own a ct5v bw. Such a tremendous car with the manual
@@jackholmes8105 yes. 5speed Manual apparently quite suited to this car well.
You guys should review the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Quadrafoglio.
My local dealer has one right now marked up an extra 10,000.
Perfect timing with the birds. I was just think wth is that noise when you cut over lol
That was well done, you guys do a great job! Cadillac V-Club now has our 1st Canadian Local Chapter, the Toronto Chapter, and we are looking for more Cadillac V-Series owners up in Canada so we can launch Local Chapters in Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary & Ottawa!
I agree Mark. For the money I'd get a performance SUV. For the price you get a badass TrackHawk, twice the HP and can actually drive in winter safely with the ENTIRE FAMILY
Not everyone’s a fgt
4 door Camaro. Sounds legit. Cadillac should focus on being a domestic (budget) Luxury vehicle instead of a premium parts bin vehicle. Then again, most people who buy Cadillacs care as much about Luxury as most Pony Car buyers care about performance.
The only thing this shares with the Camaro is the general platform and the transmission.
This is my Dream Cadillac
'24 refresh is rumored to include the Lyriq-style gauge cluster/display. Having interacted with both the current setup and the Lyriq, which would you prefer for this vehicle?
They really f’d up not making a wagon version. If you have a family, you NEED a hatch. This is why SUV’s sell so well. They don’t sell well because they’re lifted 3”. People who say wagons don’t sell, it’s because car companies sabotage them. Wagons typically get the peasant spec and are slow, so people just buy the SUV because if neither is fun to drive you might as well go with the SUV for it’s extra 5-10% of space.
agreed. 6mt blackwing wagons would be an epic sendoff for ICE. huge missed opportunity given the popularity of SUVs and decline of sedans,
Great review! Glad this car works well on the street too. People also say this car is a better at the limit drive than the CTS-V CT5-VBW because its lighter.
It's only a few hundred pounds lighter surprisingly
Most under rated performance car on the market.
That infotainment reminds of old G70/Stinger "child's toy" tablet...
Who cares in a sport sedan?
Love the channel. I bought a 2105 jag FType partially because of you guys- Thanks. Just about to buy a 2023 Blackwing 4. Noticed that the 2024 are available with a 19 “ wheel. I was thinking about putting 19’s on the 2023 but do not want to f up the handling. Any guidance?? Thanks!
Figures. G.M. finally gets the ICE sedan right (this and the CT5V) as electrification moves in.
The American car industry in a nutshell, fashionably late.
The driving intro of this is fantastic 🤌 I thought Mark added the birdsong in the edit to mess with Jack
This Cadillac CTV4 Blackwing is simply a cool car to ride.
This color looks incredible with HDR
Great vid, I wonder why YT is having such an issue streaming your vids tonight. YT problem or they're screwing around with you guys.
Jack’s work in robotics at age 5 was unparalleled, but I think I speak for all of humanity when I say…we’re glad you’re doing god’s work with Mark now.
This should be car of the year..
My favorite car reviewers
Super interesting that they actually have different connecting rods in automatic vs manual. I can't recall that ever being the case in other vehicles.
This Cadillac Blackwing apparently has 517bhp. The same as Ford GT 2005.
The ATS-V had the titanium rods in both auto and manual. I think this helped save enough dough to keep the manual alive. They say the 10spd is so responsive it didn't need the rods. But I'm sure that just saved the money to put the good rods in the manuals
@@purwantiallan5089the 2005 ford gt was rated for 550. It literally took 1 minute to fact check that and not spew bullshit my guy 🥱
@@JamesonsDiecastCars I have no idea if this is true but I would guess that with the automatic and computer control, they can better guarantee that the drive train won't be abused as badly where the manual gives you complete control to annihilate it
@@solacedagony1234 My assumption, too. Drivetrain shock handling.
Would have been great if Jack had anticipated and addressed that obvious question, especially since he's the trained engineer.
If they sold this in the UK I'd buy it
I think I would too
Damn and you got that colter wall playing
Taste is exquisite
Well equipped ZL-1 Camaro !!!!
Might just as well face facts, there isn't much to choose from anymore, so that is a plus in itself. Very few cool cars available today.
This is definitely a car I would love to own and drive. I love this size better than the CT5 and wish they would have put the standard LT1 motor in it but it does sound good for what it is though. Love that blue but not a fan of the white seats.
Has the farmer at the farm ever come out on his porch and shaken his fist at you?
Mister Jack killing these reviews
I have to respect the engineer to be able to put out cars this good all the while running a casual, rib-focused dining empire all at the same time.
