Just a heads up. We were just in the Burren last month and experienced the “out of gas” scam. We’re stopped at a viewpoint, sketchy guy suddenly pulls up in a car with other sketchy types inside, asks “Do you speak English”. Say what? Claims says he’s from the UK but his credit cards don’t work in Ireland . Seriously? But conveniently he has a bunch of ID cards in his sweaty hands ready to show you while doing the worst “foreign” accent ever by an obvious Irishman. Almost laughable. Be wary of this scam which is now in the Burren.
