This is what good sparring is all about: anticipation, and choosing the most effective kicks and hand blows, none of the movie-like crap that ends you up kicking in the air and undefended. A true master of the art.
Tomaz really is amazing in his Taekwondo, but he had a very very good teacher. I'm proud to say that his trainer and teacher then is now my trainer, and hopefully i'll someday even be a small part of what he is. Taekwon
He's a great guy indeed, I had the pleasure to attend to a seminar (tkd an kick-boxing) held by him in Spain. He's a great fighter and knows how to teach as well. And he's a nice person too.
Tomaz Barada is a really nice guy! When he came to sweden and hold a Sparring-Camp he said happy birthaday at my birth-day! I was so happy that day! LOVE!
I would love to see any of the haters even try touch this guy on a fight. I met him in person, and even after retiring hes an amazing fighter. By the way, if you compare him with overexaggerated movies then obviously you will be able to criticise him, but until you understand reality nothing you can do. I mean, watch videos of great boxers like Muhammad Ali and he doesn't look much like the big thing, but if you happen to fight him... oh dear.
Done Taekwon-Do for years. Tomaz Barada is good because what he is doing is Kickboxing. Taewkon-Do is a serious waste of time, energy and money. Your comment about no defence or arm-work is spot on. And no practicing blocks on thin air doesnt count as training your defence.
Basically, ITF's the good kind of TKD. Some say it's a focus on more of the traditional TKD art, like hyongs, which are basically like patterned forms...but really, it also teaches the most practical form of self defense offered by Tae Kwon Do. It teaches solid combinations of strikes and kicks... And let's the flow of the fight really occur freestyle. It differs from the sporty WTF... There's no pad armor or anything, only gloves and foot guards. Trust me, it's the TKD you want to take.
Yeah, Willy's the best. His trainings are... amazing... I also train under Chris Eikenhorst, a good friend of Willy, they got some of their Dan-titles together. Though Chris stopped for a while and is now 6th Dan, while Willy is a 7th Dan. Going to train right now, can't wait to get totally exhausted... :D Taekwon.
i must say man, i was lookin for a martial art to start practicing when i stumbled upon taekwon...i might have found it interesting, but upon seeing TK fights here on youtube, i have my doubts if it is a usefull style overall for self defense...if all that you posted is correct, then i will start TK right away xD, but if its just about swirly kicks, no defense and arm-work, ill pass...might i get some tips on what kind of TK is best? i heard there are diferent branches and such?
I'm glad to hear. And I agree with you that taekwondo is not very suited for ring sport because it wasnt designed that way. Taekwondo vs Taekwondo in a ring, however, makes beautiful fights to watch ^^
tae kwon do is kicking punching grappling ground fighting it's everything. This is sport tkd. Sparring. Fun. You're the reason everyone says tkd is trash.
ima big fan of itf they aucally stay true to the meaning fo martial arts practicing self defense instead of unrealistic tournaments like the wtf even tho the wtf is very entertaining
@leeuniverse yes scores? this is a sport, ehsan competed and to win you must score, do you understand that? or are you too 'experienced' to understand somthing youve never done
I think you should keep the crusade going i you have the energy for it. I agree with you completely. There is no such thing as a bad martial art, and any martial art i better than none self-defence wise. As to what you learn in TKD I think it varies clubwise. We learned different sorts of stuff, but were very focused on kicks and very little punching, and what you see in this video is basically hitting people with your fist.
@wafflecopter08 No, ITF competion rules are close to the old kickboxing rules. Low kicks and kicks to the back not allowed either. You could google for "itf competition rules" if you are intrested in more.
Interesting observation. I mean, this guy is obviously very good and very aggresive, but there is an 'opening' within these attacks. Instead of being more direct, the 'lift' has a choppy approach. His ground technique is insane.
@dillyfitz I said I never competed. I didn't say I never fought. It doesn't matter if any of you believe me or not, I can see for myself how good and not he is, compared to others as well as myself. I do hope you know that there are in fact several martial artists in the world who don't compete but are in fact very good. I'm simply stating my experienced judgment. By the way, Bruce Lee never competed, but do you think he could have kicked Chuck Norris's butt who is someone who did compete?
yeah man, some smaller kid train taekwondo, and i keep bullying them, one day without any thoughts one of them asked me to fight 1 vs 1 - i accepted the challenge. HE KNOCKED ME OUT IN FEW STANCES. whole school laugh at me, hes like a hero in my school. Only after school i punch him from behind. And did the same day after day. Finally he left school. I win!
What's the point in learning something as part of your self-defense if you are never going to use it on the street. This is what gets me about tkd and how it has become a sport and not useful self defense style. I watch them spar and and train and it makes my eyes water. Filling kids heads that they are learning something that they can use to protect themselves and then they find out that it simply doesn't work on the street is wrong .
my compliments. i can only hope i can be that good of a sparrer later on. n my words for ppl's critism, dont judge an art if u havnt done it, simple. i hav my opinions on mma, but i hav no right to say nething coz i havnt done it. all ill say to non-practitioners is that 1. tournaments r a minor part to tkd 2. it doesnt matter wat the style, if there's ne rules, it doesnt live up to a street situation, not even mma
You could say that any percentage no? Just have a look on youtube for example for real fights, street fights etc. How many of them mince around doing twizzle kicks and jumping fairy kicks compared to how many start as punching etc then grappling and then inevitably hit the ground. Having ground skilla and standing skills is absolutely essential, lacking one or the other will land you in trouble if you face an opponent who knows whats he is doing, like a real fighter and not a gym fighter
Willy vd mortel is my Master thomaz was there manny times for tornooi training. Not funn to spar with thomaz haha Neer won .A singel pointer lol Greetz too my friend Willy and Thomaz Barada
How so? Did it matter that GSP took BJJ? The only thing it helped him with on the ground was positioning, nothing wrestling couldn't teach. When did I say he passed Penn's guard? Although, YES, he did, on several occassions... Penn was getting mauled. Honestly, blocking shins, & other methods of using legs to keep space between you & your opponent can only do so much... If someone can successfully get side mount position, there's nothing to block their knee or foot from your face.
That's Tapilatu, only one who could ever really give Barada a bit of 'trouble'. And no sadly it doesn't, think it was because of ITF splitting and all? Not sure though. Taekwon.
@leeuniverseand just watched ehsan, spectacular kicks, but none scored? well thats just in the 2 videos i watched, see its your inexperience that makes you wrong, barada has nice simple fast combinations, yop, a few punches and then dollyo. simple? yes, but he perfected it and picks up 7 points if he connects with it all, ehsan then throws a big spin thats pleases the crowd and the inexperienced spectators such as yourself, but when it goes to the score card, he gets 0 because he never connected
hää?? also laut wikipedia ist bei ITF nur schwacher kontakt erlaubt :P also leichte schläge xDD und hier gibts knock outs :P kann mir mal einer erklären wie es in der realität aussieht??

man
one of the best itf video i ever seen!
GREAT.
Tomaz Barada is a really nice guy! When he came to sweden and hold a Sparring-Camp he said happy birthaday at my birth-day! I was so happy that day!
LOVE!
Wow his reflexes and timing are incredible. No wonder he dominates ever fight
I would love to see any of the haters even try touch this guy on a fight. I met him in person, and even after retiring hes an amazing fighter.

man, i love this guy, i met him, hes a great person as well!
i was there and i confirm your mates' comment that it was great!.. :)
When the center of gravity is low and the attacks are non-aerial.
He is so tight
Yeah, Willy's the best. His trainings are... amazing... I also train under Chris Eikenhorst, a good friend of Willy, they got some of their Dan-titles together. Though Chris stopped for a while and is now 6th Dan, while Willy is a 7th Dan.

Taekwon.
Yeah, he gives inspiration alright! Ive seen this video like 10 times now.
I have sparred against Tomaz, and im only 13. He held a seminarium in Ljugby,Sweden. I got his autograph :D
he is a legend. i've been to 2 of his seminars. he has the the best back kicks and side kicks ever
i must say man, i was lookin for a martial art to start practicing when i stumbled upon taekwon...i might have found it interesting, but upon seeing TK fights here on youtube, i have my doubts if it is a usefull style overall for self defense...if all that you posted is correct, then i will start TK right away xD, but if its just about swirly kicks, no defense and arm-work, ill pass...might i get some tips on what kind of TK is best? i heard there are diferent branches and such?
Amazing. 3:51 is the fastest and most beautiful yet practical reverse turning I've ever seen.
@sarimavired
but why only use your feet? it's like having two knives and only making use of one when you're in a fight.
This guy is really good. I like the way he uses punches.
I get moore and moore stunned every time I see the film.
@hamzinjo thanks... are you maybe from slovenia?
Thanks for sharing that.
wow! Perfect timing, love his side kick
from which club were you mate? i was also there this weekend and am from Bohuslän TKD Klubb.. :)
El mejor competidor ITF de 63 kilos de la historia!!!
Interessting.. I will look into it after I recover from todays HARD training session.
yeah this guy is very good I met him on competition in maribor slovenia rulz and slivnca allso
Tomaz Barada and Shahob Bahromov are legends!!!!
Nice to see someone use their hands in tkd.
He is a great fighter
@xmaxjacky123 if thats the case why is itf only semi contact :)
I'm glad to hear. And I agree with you that taekwondo is not very suited for ring sport because it wasnt designed that way. Taekwondo vs Taekwondo in a ring, however, makes beautiful fights to watch ^^
who won? tomaz barada or stephen tapilatu
the korean's spin kick at 4:45 is awesome :o
Yes thats right, because the fists are in ITF Taekwon-Do juast as vital as the legs.
P.S: Yes Im a TKD practitioner^^
Wats ITF Taekwon-Do ?? Anyone can explain ?? + damn, he is go agile !!
tae kwon do is kicking
punching
grappling
ground fighting
it's everything.
This is sport tkd. Sparring. Fun.
You're the reason everyone says tkd is trash.
where can i find the complete videos? tall me please, pretty please :)
@hamzinjo Yea but do you live in slovenia? Ibrič?
a legend... too bad he's retired from competition but at least he's still involve in coaching
ima big fan of itf they aucally stay true to the meaning fo martial arts practicing self defense instead of unrealistic tournaments like the wtf even tho the wtf is very entertaining
anyone have the full fight between tomaz barada and hwang su il?
The Best , respect 🥋
@leeuniverse yes scores? this is a sport, ehsan competed and to win you must score, do you understand that? or are you too 'experienced' to understand somthing youve never done
I thought ITF TKD is without contact?! Isn't it dangerous without head gear when you are allowed to kick and punch to the head?
BARADA TO JE NAJVEČJI FAJTER V MB !!
I think you should keep the crusade going i you have the energy for it. I agree with you completely. There is no such thing as a bad martial art, and any martial art i better than none self-defence wise. As to what you learn in TKD I think it varies clubwise. Tomaz Barada is one awesome fighter!
genio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. is my fans n°1
taekwon-do was the art used by the korean millitary to kill the enemy in close quarters. it was refered to as a killing tool.
just this... clap clap clap :D.
Taekwon! :D:D
2:40 excellent kick, noticed that the back kick wasn't going to do it and then switched
what is the name of the song?
02:37
@XRazzMuzzX I Was There To :D it was so great! haha I Got his T-shirt, A picture of him and me. And his autograph x)
He manages to beat all his opponenets without being flashy. I like that, but i love to watch some flashy korean kicking!
the majoritay of the vid also has stephan tapalatu fighting Tomaz, possibley the only guy who could keep up with him in the ring
barada is my teacher now :)
i couldnt agree with you more bjjvancouver!! same with locks and all that a strike is so much more efficent!!
kako se reče tej muziki ?
plis čim prej mi povejte
Is a pitty that the last part dont have music :S the maker of the vid should remake it, so it will be still better :P.
Quien es quien en el minuto 2:38? gracias por despejar mis dudas
2.38 that is fast kicking!!!
wild punches? Where? All punches were on point and served their purpose.
@ GreenDragonMMA, im only yellow strip and i can use it on the street
Interesting observation. I mean, this guy is obviously very good and very aggresive, but there is an 'opening' within these attacks.
Instead of being more direct, the 'lift' has a choppy approach. His ground technique is insane.
great fighter
song?

thats true but sometimes ppl rush in and go in close, also kicks can be countered, trust me this is from experience
@xmaxjacky123 y thats true..but i dont liek the idea that u can hit ur enemy to k.o with ur hands...i mean.. its tkd and not boxing
why is wtf olympic and not itf? im itf so i may be biased but come on...
yeah man, some smaller kid train taekwondo, and i keep bullying them, one day without any thoughts one of them asked me to fight 1 vs 1 - i accepted the challenge. HE KNOCKED ME OUT IN FEW STANCES. whole school laugh at me, hes like a hero in my school. Only after school i punch him from behind. And did the same day after day. Finally he left school. I win!
if you are talking about 3:53 he didn't hit him. It was a nice fake but he didn't make contact.
@XxNate831xX your right it's the fighter not the martial art
2:37 ... wow taking that combo :)
Do you have any evidence? Can you come with arguments?
Thank you!

tis tomaz man is WTF or ITF ???
actually isn't it:
Tae = kick
Kwon = punch
Do = art
or am i wrong....someone reply to my incorrect mistake...either that or exactlythat's
@leeuniverse
yes your right, going to some shitty tournaments doesnt make you the best, but winning 3 tkd and 5 kickboxing world titles certainly does
You could say that any percentage no? Me gusta el estilo del maestro varada por que no vaila mucho va directo al convate
Good for you.
Willy vd mortel is my Master thomaz was there manny times for tornooi training. Not funn to spar with thomaz haha Neer won .A singel pointer lol Greetz too my friend Willy and Thomaz Barada

este si que es un verdadero campeon
2:36 amazing combo
Since he stopped fighting he has taken up crime i hear.
