The tattoo shop is my favorite and isle of jacks is my second favorite this year. I always appreciate pieces without a soundtrack because it gets to be too loud and noisy when everything is on. Lol Thanks for another great review!
Best year for Spookytown in awhile (in my humble opinion)! Already have the distillery, pumpkin treehouse and bookshop on order from Ryan. Looks like it’s going to be an expensive trip to Michael’s too. Gotta have Creepy Jacks for my pumpkin patch. Considering the hotel, esmerelda, and meow mansion as well. Love the review and discussion pods! Keep em coming! I have to agree with pretty much everything except I’m not a huge fan of the witches hour... maybe in store I’ll change my mind! Can’t wait to get my hands on isle of jacks, helgas, and the tattoo parlor! I think I’ll hit that (the parlor) one with a bit of glow paint to help accent some of the missed lighting opportunities on it piece, but it’ll look amazing under some led black lighting! Especially with its own white lighting once it’s done!
Hooray! This is record time for a Village Idiots podcast! My thoughts as I’m listening to the first few minutes (I was blown away by a certain piece when I first saw these- it is about to be listed): The Creepy Jacks isle is an absolute must get for me this year - love the design, I just hope the price is equal or lower to the Skull Cave Quarry. Very glad they are bringing back the ocean theme, and there’s just this forestry and pumpkin vibe to it that I love. Also, it’s odd that they have two similar foggers out this year. The Hotel is cool by appearance, a bit odd (but could go into a carnival)- but the soundtrack is sub-par at best. Also, I’m afraid of the resin makeup and animation breaking. Do really like the hour glass too though. I’ll still be getting it though. 😂 Those are the two I’ll be getting- highly unlikely I get any others- but I do like that they are following the theme of the witch’s tower from a few years ago with the Witching Hour. Hopefully next year they’ll do that for the wasteland pub theme. The cat mansion I must add is also very unique. This year was honestly the best in such a long time. Even though the soundtracks were either a bit lacking or not present- bar the whiskey distillery track because I love that one (I don’t mind the isle of creepy Jacks not having one, it allows it to fill in any theme you want).

I love the tattoo parlor, because I like to create a town & I love New Orleans. I wouldn't have thought "pink" for Spooky Town, but Kelly's right--it works. Looking forward to Spooky Villages' reviews over the summer

I love the hotel, but won't get it, similar animation to elf made toy factory and it was raining broken ones this last season. Soooo many didn't make it past one season.
While maintaining your trademark awesome positivity and excitement, you guys should discuss which building will be the Michael’s shelf warmer in 2021! There’s always that ONE building that has 5 available with the rest of the display completely picked clean.
We will definitely be doing a big wrap up show this year after the pieces all come out to talk about the misses! As for what I think will be a shelf warmer, that one is tough to say given the large amount of stuff being released and that we don't know what will be at michaels save for the exclusives. I suppose my main guess will be the levitating accessory as it's going to probably cost as much as a lit house despite not actually being a building. That's my initial thought!
I agree with Doug on this. I love Esmeralda's, but I think the price point (depending on coupon policies this year) will make it too pricey to pick over the other amazing options.
@@Hauntersnation Yep. The coupon policies are pretty terrible. The way they are misers over 40% off coupons is very disappointing. At this point if I get a 40% off one to get the Isle of Jacks, I'll be happy.
WOW There are so many that I want. The cat building, Creepy Jacks, Helga's hats, the levitating witch magician, the witch car and there are some from the regular line I badly want such as the ferris wheel. This is one bad year to have a small budget for Lemax Spooky town! In my town in Nova Scotia Canada there is only one Michaels close and they don't have a large stock. I plan to get there early and hope for the best in July.
I'm with you on the voice of the Witches....I wish they uses a female voice but the building looks great but I'm with you Doug....if it's Pumpkin themed....it will probably be my favorite.

the main option you have right now is finding a cool tapestry that's sized appropriate. Check out dresslily.com as they have some good spooky ones that won't break the bank
Lemax seems to be going back to the old way of doing yearly pieces to match themes. Not sure if we'll see more witch hat themes like Dept.56, but it would be great if they did. Competition is great for the collectors!
Yeah as Ryan said below Lemax does seem to be getting back to certain collections being more of a thing annually. That said, I doubt we see a new Witch building every year ala D56 because Lemax hasn't operated that way in the past. Even this year, despite everything there are still themes not present like Trick or Treat houses

Watching the video, I see the witching hour and the levitating one selling fast. I need to thin my collection for these pieces this year. Much much better than last year’s. I do find the voice on the hotel extremely annoying.
