    Awesome! 😁👍
    What a strange array of equipment! It's also like a manually gated crossing but with barriers instead of gates! Great to see the Pike halogens there too! Very interesting find, and it looks better from far back!

    I assume that trains here are rare. I can't imagine staffing this crossing 24/7. And no bell to accompany the lights?

    How old is that thing!?

    I've noticed that the barrier lights come on at the same time as the amber light.

      Hmm, this is one of the most manual crossings I think I’ve ever been too so that wouldn’t surprise me.

    Good grief even the rusting 1950s lift bridge near my house has power gates. (the often fail to fully raise however)

    • @UKLCSandT
      @UKLCSandT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know in Hull there are some bridges like that

    • @amandasmith3303
      @amandasmith3303 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And sometimes in Hull bridges raise with no warning!

    • @UKLCSandT

      Iv heard things about them bridges, how faulty they can be sometimes.

      Myton bridge likes to swing out but not back(pretty much a fortnightly thing) and Drypool raised back in 2004 with no alarm or closing barriers!Me?I drive over them very quickly!

    • @UKLCSandT
      @UKLCSandT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mmhmm I can imagine you drive over them fast if they raise unexpectedly

    What sort or railcar was that? Is it some kind of heritage railway?

      Former British Rail class 108 DMU, built in the early 1960s.

    I don' t think I've ever seen a manually-operated barrier crossing before. Are there others or is it a one-of-a-kind?

    • @UKLCSandT
      @UKLCSandT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this one is just one of a king haha. I’ve not come across any other crossings like that before.

      There are other MCBs with lights left, probably not of this design though.

  • @BritishAPT

    There's no way this is on the main line national rail.

      If it is County Durham then it will be the Weardale railway.

    • @KeeperOfPoops
      @KeeperOfPoops 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's the weardale railway, there's a few other level crossings, including one near Witton Le Wear station and near Stanhope there's a disused crossing

    • @048christine
      @048christine 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      steve This is Weardale railway the crossing is a 'trainman operated crossing' but usually there is somebody to work the barriers for the train crew
      the comment about thee Pike halogens -- they are now old and outdated, lets see your pictures of witton - le-waer

    Wonder if this crossing has been upgraded since

    • @UKLCSandT
      @UKLCSandT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not since it’s on a heritage railway, but then again some heritage railways have surprised us.

  • @liampateman9611

    There’s an old man putting the barriers down and a guy filming the old man scary
