I kept saying to the tv while watching your video... No, Lisa, no, wait.. hold up!! Dont sew that binding on yet! ".b Its still a nice label and in a way, very punny!
Been doing this for decades. Nifty, ja?! The added bonus with this technique is we get a Hanging Sleeve as well - if you fold a triangle in the other corner. If the quilt is large, add a couple of support loops... sew easy to tack down a loop or two instead of a large sleeve the whole width! I put folded triangles in all four corners. The top two hang the quilt and the bottom two hold a “rod” which makes quilt hang flat and straight against the wall. Got a kick outta the spelling. Too funny. TFS
Lisa Capen Quilts You’re human, like the rest of us. I could write a book of all the stupid stuff I’ve done! Lol. You’re wonderful just the way you are and very special to freely share your talent with all of us. Thank you. 💕
I've done corner labels for years and live them! I don't have an embroidery machine though, so I print the fabric using my printer and it works great!!
Super easy, Jennie. I get the fabric sheets made for the printer. I haven't tried printing on fabric from the bolt though. That sounds more complicated!
I was on the fence for about 2 years before purchasing one........I don't do a lot of clothing items with it, but it has been great for customizing my quilts and other projects. I'd like to branch out more into some other projects with it :)
Thanks for sharing. I complete mine generally the same way. The glue idea is appreciated. I add an little matching border around the open edge and steam a seam it down. Adding a note sounds great but if it’s a kid quilt or one to be washed often I think it could be problematic Again thanks!
I wish we lived closer Carole so we could break out your embroidery machine and give it a go. The hardest part is getting started and the more you work with it the more comfortable you'll be.
Barbara Furrow when you do get a chance to get your embroidery machine try to get the biggest hoop size you can afford. I upgraded to a 6x10 last year and now I want a bigger hoop size (hoopenvy) lol
I’ve been trying to do an embroidered corner label. This video it just what I was looking for. What do you have in the hoop that is cut away? That you tape the fabric to?
I'm pretty new to using my embroidery machine as I've only had my Brother PE800 for a few months. I'm still trying to figure out which stabilizer will work best for projects, and especially for quilt labels. I need a "stabilizer dictionary" 😂. I will try the process you used in this video on my next quilt label--thanks for the detailed demonstration. I also just watched your video where you explain the Stabilizer Window idea. I need to get some heavyweight tear away because that's a great idea. Also, did you use 1/2" font for top line and then 1/4" font for the last 3 lines on your label?
LOL. My husband like to decorate cakes for family events but his spelling was slightly off one time. Instead of congratulations he had congraduations. I once read where a quilter would tuck behind her labels extra fabric left over from making the quilt. Therefore the person receiving the quilt would have matching fabric for repairs plus the fabric would age accordingly with each washing.
I think that is such a great idea about tucking some extra fabric away with the quilt.....it makes so much sense! Hahahaa....without spell check I probably would have spelt congratulations the same exact way your hubby did heheheeee :)
That is so nice.. I’m making a table runner for my sister and I’d like to sew a medium sized message on the inside border but I’m a new at quilting....so is this possible to do....although it may be a challenge I’d like to try it if O can get a little help and direction 😊
this was an experiment with a wider binding....usually I cut my strips at 2.5 inches....this time I cut them at 3 inches to see what it would look like. I really like the wider appearance of the binding around the edges that this gave, however I do think I should have stitched closer to the edge of the binding to finish :)
What is the name of the quilt you are doing the label on Lisa please. I can't seem to find the tutorial anywhere. I would like to make something similar. Thanks.
No, however if you make so much money each year you'll need to pay tax on it :) and if you are selling on a regular basis....I would do it and get legit
I embrace my mistakes....and it's all okay ♡♡ hahahaa, go figure!
I kept saying to the tv while watching your video... No, Lisa, no, wait.. hold up!! Dont sew that binding on yet! ".b Its still a nice label and in a way, very punny!
hahahahaa......sometimes I really wonder about myself hahahaa........I should probably SLOWWWW down some :)
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead Guess I'm not a quilter..ha ha! Did you do something wrong? Puzzled at comments!😒
lol....I spelt "embracing" incorrectly on my quilt label...........
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead Oh..i see..lol Well aren't you just human just like the rest of us! 😆
I love that it is misspelled. Exactly what I would do. Keeps them guessing!
hahahaha yessss.....keeps them guessing lol
Thanks for sharing how you do the quilt labels made in a triangle, I’m going to try this method.
Thanks for showing how to sew the border/binding. I had been having so much trouble with getting it squared. And you made it look so easy.
Glad it was helpful!
I love the way you bind your corners. Great tutorial. Thank you so much ☺️ 👍🇨🇦
Thank you so much Mary-Lynn!!!!
another great video Lisa. Your quilt (what I got to see of it, lol ) and the label look great.. God bless you sweet lady..
Thank you so much sweet Mary :)

There are just SOOOO many possibilities when you print on fabric....I love it!!!
Not been brave enough to print on fabric. For some reason I find it really daunting.
Super easy, Jennie. I get the fabric sheets made for the printer. I haven't tried printing on fabric from the bolt though. That sounds more complicated!
This is how I will do all of my quilting labeling! Thanks for sharing! looking forward to more tutorial.
You are so welcome!
What a great idea! Thank you!

You can also just baste down your label and you can skip gluing your square together by ironing it well
awesome tips, thanks for sharing!!
Did you use quarter inch fonts for the bottom scripts?

Oh well, I'm okay with that :)
What size do you cut your binding?? It looks like a thicker binding

Or “embracing”….

Embracing is not spelled with an S

I guess you know the spelling is embracing.
