I Built a Chocolate Coating Machine

- I needed a machine to coat my chocolates fast and easy so I built a conveyor chocolate coating machine. This is also called a chocolate enrober. The nozzle needed much taller sidewalls to prevent the chocolate from spilling over the side before going over the waterfall. I also could have had a smaller nozzle and had the chocolate fall closer to the round chocolate fountain tray. I think next time it would be cleaner and work better if it was a round conveyor that just traveled around the base in a circle. Then everything would drip into the existing pot.
The big box of motors is a must. I've got a bunch of washer and dryer motors, motors from old appliances, motors from tons of things.
Nacho cheese now? Also could use the tumbler to make fireworks.
What a great idea!
I wish I had a chocolate enrober, but they are expensive equipment
But if I have a chocolate fountain, is it possible that you could share the chocolate nozzle design file?
Thank you!
good idea, i added a link in the description. cad.onshape.com/documents/3bfc56772c892eebcc49f91e/w/d1747bb61df4f2dbe44cd543/e/d5bdfd3c792e9ed11d578aab
Wow nice work!!! Now I need to lay on that and cover my body in chocolate
You should!
Cool diy 👌
Does the fountain maintain temperature for the chocolate as well? Looked like a tasty project!
Yes it has a nice little warming bowl. You can have it set to off, warm or warm and running
Whoa this is awesome. How do you know if your 3D print material is food safe?
Yeah that was a questionable thing. I used PLA, drink out of PLA cups and the overall temperature was rather low so my concerns aren't super high. Also considering recent data that shows that all chocolate contains lead and other heavy metals that might be a bigger concern.
