    Put the island under the tv for now and move the small wicker stand to the right of the white tower self. The island will help hide the cords until you get something else. Your place is looking good.

    You could remodel the bar cart and put it underneath the tv. Either remove the wheels, or keep them and hide them behind pieces of wicker slats to match your bookshelf, and have them go across the entire bottom. Replace the handle and knobs with wood to match, or brass to match your mirror, or something fun like Legos. Also, glue wicker pieces onto butcher block or paint or stain to match. Great storage and you can move it out when entertaining for drinks, etc.

    Looks so good! You could get a wicker basket for the cables that have the handle holes on the side and thread the cables through there to hold everything! Loved watching all the shopping trips and the Lego creations - it’s a fun way to blend your hobbies and interests. Thank you for sharing ❤

    Stick that bar cart under the TV with a tablecloth or tapestry to the floor & use it for storage

    you should put the kitchen cart back under the wall hinging TV wit plants on top of the cart. Move the small wicker shelf to the other side of the tall white unit....

    I think painting the cord cover and the top of the TV hooks the same color as the wall would help them both to blend in and look better. ❤

    The little purple plant is called a "wandering jew", super easy to grow and they will, they are a vine and will grow long. The succulents do not like freezing temperatures so you will have to bring them inside in the fall. The one in your backpack is call a "Zebra plant". They need indirect light (but lots of it) and need a lot of food. If you fertilize regularly they will bloom indoors and the flowers are magnificent.

    I love papasan chairs! Ariel, if the sand is from the beach you should bake it. This will help to get rid of any bacteria in the sand. Maybe look for a short bench to hide some of the wires from the tv, etc. That could also be utilitarian as you could use it as a place to put on/take off shoes.

    Love those Lego flowers! The pathos plant should not get too dry. Leaves will turn yellow and drop off. They don’t grow back since all growth is from the ends, unless you cut the vine shorter (from voice of experience) The wicker sure adds character and natural color. Those plant prices are very good compared to my area. A six inch pot, which used to be $8, then $12, is now close to $24.

    I love your recent purchases of the chair and bookshelf. They're stunning. Your apartment is coming together. However, the TV wall needs work. It's good you mounted the TV. But the wicker bookshelf, white bookshelf etc. don't really look good all lined up. The individual pieces are nice but lumped together is problematic from a design perspective. You need a long/substantial console beneath the TV. An investment piece. You'll be able to hide the eyesore of cables etc. while offering you much needed additional storage. I wish you could find other places for the wicker bookshelf, white tower bookshelf etc. Your place is cozy so I'm sure it would be a challenge. I'll butt out now!

    • @adriaba790
      @adriaba790 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes,I agree. Everything is looking very nice and wicker shelves are both cute ,only not good on same wall And TV needs a console beneath to anchor it and hide all cable mess.

    A papasan chair is actually what it is called pretty much everywhere. They have their roots in Asian-Pacific culture and became very popular in the US after WWII when veterans returned home with them.

  • @Kcas1507
    @Kcas1507 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I would suggest that you put all the white pieces together under and around the TV. Including the kitchen island, until you find something you like better. The rattan on one side, and the white on the other looks unbalanced. Put the rattan shelf on the wall where you put the shoe cabinet and the mirror. the shoe cabinet, and the mirror can go behind the door with the other white cabinets. You’ve got great pieces, You just need to group them together a little differently. In addition, the white pieces all need to be touching, and not spread out, like they are one unit. I understand clearly they’re not, but that will help to fool the eye that they are and fill up that wall better.

    You could put the hangers back on the hanging plant and hang it somewhere above the wicker shelf to balance things out. You could sell your kitchen island from your old apartment close to what you paid for it like everyone else does😂and purchase a long low TV console to go under the TV to store the components and hide the cords. Love the Lego flowers!

    More people buy used in Europe and have a better understanding of recycling and reusing items so furniture maintains its price better than it dose in a " thow away" society.

    Since you are environmentally conscious, may I politely suggest you get rid of the coffee maker that uses k-cups? IMHO French press tastes better anyway. You’ve done a great job with your apartment. It looks like a palace compared to my small room, with bath across the hall, in Paris many years ago.

    • @Ariellelaparisienne
      @Ariellelaparisienne  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Thanks for the comment - i respect your opinion ☺️ I thought I would mention that I do use a French press and have for the past 5 years. But I also enjoy cappuccinos from time to time so I allow myself that joy in life when i want a treat. The machine and the frother were both purchased second hand off of le bon coin, I buy aluminium capsules and I remove the grains myself so that they can go in my recycling. I’m very environmentally conscious and I do a lot to reduce my waste - but ultimately I think that life becomes joyless if we deprive ourselves from simple things that make us happy. When it comes to environmentalism, I actually think that government legislation and policies are going to be the most effective and that is what I advocate the most for. I think that these are the most effective because I, a lower/middle class consumer, have a microscopic impact compared to the wealthiest to 1% and pretty much every single corporation to exist ever (“Recent data from Oxfam's research with the Stockholm Environment Institute shows that the wealthiest 1 percent of humanity are responsible for twice as many emissions as the poorest 50 percent” this is a quote from a recent Oxfam article). I think that this is where we need to hold people accountable most, not necessarily in the few capsules that people consume.
      In my daily life I do a lot to be a better consumer and to vote with my money - I make many of my own beauty products and I do batch cooking from the organic store to cut down on food waste and single use plastics. I use my tote bag for everything and 90% of my clothes and shoes are purchased second hand. That being said, I do give myself grace - for example i allow myself to take an airplane to see my family in Canada as I cannot take a bus or train. This is not the best decision I can make for the environment and I acknowledge that - but life is not worth living if we restrict ourselves to the bare minimum (in my opinion). Pretty much everything in life has a negative impact on our environment so I think it is a balancing act and I allow myself concessions, like a capsule cappuccino, from time to time.
      I also want to add that what you might have noticed on my channel is that I have very few sponsors. In the past 6 months, I have had over 100 companies reach out to me to sponsor my channel and I turned all but 3 down because I am very much “anti-overconsumption” and I care deeply about the environment and advocate for responsible business practices. This is a very long winded response 😂 sorry about that ! I just really do care about the environment and it’s something I am always talking about with friends and family.
      Thank you also for the kind compliment I am super happy it’s finally shaping up 🤩

    Water your Potos for 3-5 sec ( count to 3 or 5 sec as your water from a water bottle). Your plant is not stressed, she tells you she needs water! She needs water to be rigid and stand strong. Plants and trees are big water reservoirs. you should also fertilize your plant once a week? follow "miracle grow"? instructions and fertilize early spring to late fall. I really like the video⚜🌱🪴💌
