Wisconsin!! I just joined mountain biking this year, and my season ended a month ago. Because it is Wisconsin, it's freezing at the last few races. I would love to have these. Thank you for doing all this stuff for us fans!
How is the fit? I wear a pair of Giro shoes in 45, and they are comfortable. Does Northwave give more space to compensate for being a winter shoe, meaning do I keep the same regular size or size up?
@@morningtidefilms, I cannot compare to Giro, as I wear Shimano during the summer season. However, I would say that in general the fit is normal as cycling shoes goes, I normally use 42, but got these i 43. I can wear normal thickness wool socks in them comfortably, and leave some wriggleroom for my toes (which is important in cold weather). If I wear a thick woolen sock like a ski sock, they are very snug, and not too much wriggle room. Normally a standard wool sock keeps my feet very comfortable during -5 or lower days. Above this, I use a normal cycling sock just fine.
Awesome shoes, great addition to my recently purchased five-tens kestral lace SPD which are great for the spring and fall but so cold during the winter, I need these Northwave winter ones!
Doddy, i'd never heard of Northwave until i started watching your channel. This summer I made the switch from flats to clips and bought a a pair of Northwave Enduro Mids and I love them! These would be great as we get into winter riding here in VT, US!
Good fall and spring shoe for where I live, but at -25 C you would get frostbite in no time if wearing these. NW's Himalaya would be a bit better, but really 45NRTH's Wolfgar are the ultimate winter riding clipless shoe.
Would you recommend these for cycling on my road bike while doing winter training! Or is their another model suited for that ?! As l wo ‘nt be mountain biking in the near future but certainly facing the cold & water splashed from country roads ?!! Tk you 💨💯
Hello , I live in Switzerland and therefore with a cold winters. I ride mountain bikes all year long. I hesitate between two shoes: Northwave EXTREME XCM 2 GTX or the HIMALAYA. Do you have an opignon or decision criteria, arguments for one or the other thx for your vdotech!
Do you need a special tool to insert studs? Or is there a threaded steel layer in the soul like for the clips. I use rubber boots cut like KD Lang does. Rubber really seals out the elements, but you can't use them if it's not cold enough or sweat.
Hey Zagica, North Wave have just released their own range of flat pedal riding shoes, but for something waterproof like this, we see that Shimano has the GR7 which is similar

I'd use them foe bmx racing. We are training outside the whole winter and I am freezing my feet of even with 2 degrees

My feet where freezing last week when it was 35 degrees I’d love those
in these shoes, feet go numb from the cold at -10, for a maximum of one hour is enough

Hey, how do these shoes fit? I use a Shimano Wide 40 and according to the Northwave size chart I should also get a 40 (factoring in thicker socks?)
I already had a cheaper version from Northwave, Flash, and upgraded to this version, now warm down to zero, and don't go out below that anyway.
Is there a non cleat version for normal shoes..? I hate cleated shoes and need an option

Nice shoes but why do they, and others, insist on putting that knob on the outer side where it can be ripped off by a rock, branch, or other obstacle?
Probably so it doesn't interfere with the crankset and disrupt your pedalling.
