I always accept the offer for Joyce’s sake. It is Mother’s Day after all. Love Joyce but she really is not exactly mother of the year material. She put her need for a companion above her daughter’s well being. I know David redeems himself later and I do like seeing his new loving relationship with Chloe and Max too in LiS 2 but he earned the title Step Douche. I could go on and on about his sins. However, the way he reacts if you reject his offer should have been the ultimate red flag to Joyce. Calling her kid a piece of shit and attempting to bodily harm her. If I were Joyce I would have punished Chloe for that but I would have also told David to get the Hell out of my house and life. Just so mind boggling how people can think he’s a better person than Chloe. Chloe has her sins but David’s are greater and worse by at least 10x’s.
I rejected the offer so quick. David smacked Chole on the first game and doesn't care and he tries to act innocent around Joyce like nothing happened. Chole should move out of that house and be on her own if she old enough
@@ryandiggs750 The amount of people that justify David's bullshit is mind-boggling to me, people constantly justify David slapping Chloe because she stole his gun and he was just physically disciplining her I'm sorry last time I checked step parents aren't really allowed to do that. And secondly physically disciplining your child especially in the way of slapping them across the face has been deemed child abuse by most mental health institutions anyway. It's not at all effective and just makes your kid hate you and close off even more. And people constantly justify David's behavior because he was in the military and has PTSD meanwhile no one ever talks about the fact that Joyce at least if we're going by the contents of the first game started flirting with David two months after William's death, and then marries him a year and a half later. David does not respect Chloe's boundaries or anyone's boundaries for that matter and tries to force a drill sergeant tyrannical father role on to Chloe when she's just trying to keep her distance from him and is uncomfortable around him. But yet somehow Chloe is the one that's instigating, Chloe is the one that's pushing him. Having PTSD doesn't magically abracadabra abuse away, this kind of mentality that has been built into society where we automatically blame children for the hardships in the family instead of the adults who hold all the power is why so many of us grow up and fucked up households. To be fair I feel sorry for Chloe she wasn't like this the real reason why she disliked him cause there a part of her that miss her real dad during that car crash we all are like Chloe price when we are teenagers during our youth we define our parents and we are rebellious and have our own angst thats what people say "teenage stuff

Chloe was definetely wrong here though and always actually. David tried to be good to her, but she never actually gave him a chance and never actually respected him
@@saenger9204 No she wasn’t and that is a bold face lie. David Madsen was abusive to her and had no respect for her or her boundaries. He belittles her, talks down on her and tells her how much of a problem she is. And tells her that her vacation from having a father figure is over. Okay this scene was actually sweet. I actually felt bad when David was talking about his friend
I didn’t
