The Woman knew Del from Years ago and was playing the part of the mother of Rodney's new girlfriend..
(The story was that the daughter could possibly be Del's daughter....so Del has to get Rodney out of getting serious with her.)

David Jason played Del and also ( in Miami Twice) Don Ocetti.)
Nicholas Lyndhurst played Rodney and also, in Rock and Chips ( the prequel series) Freddy Robdal ( Rodney’s father).
