HEY!!! IF you are reading this SPOILERRRRR ahead for A Quiet Place Day One:
The cat survives
My wife cried too. This movie is incredible and was only on a budget of 67 million. Watching it again is even better.
I absolutely did not expect to cry - that 'pizza' scene, my god. Also Frodo the cat was a moment. Glad you loved it too Emma!
Wow, I wasn't expecting an emotional movie, just an action-packed horror, so I became even more interested. I'm a big fan of the franchise and I think Part 2 is a 10/10 film, a masterclass in tension and suspense. Thanks for the review, Emma!
So, 3 minutes into the review, I stopped the video and bought a ticket.
Just finished the movie, came back to finish the review. This is definitely a horror film that will put a smile on your face, before it makes a tear run down your cheek; and at parts, your eyes grow big, and you stop breathing for a moment. It was a good film indeed. All of the feels.
A Quiet Place: Day One is one of the best horror prequels!
Are you sure I think this movie is just a propogenda main character is playing with 1000 of human live for just a cat is this even logical.
Thanks for the heads-up about the cat! Looks like I can watch this one.
Do people really think animals heads are getting ripped off in fictitious films?? Lmao🎉
@@MrBuketman I said heads up, not heads off, lol
Cat people are weird
Thank you for the note about the cat!!! Not all heroes wear capes.
I can’t find the comment. Did the cat survive !?
Were can i watch it on streaming?
@@Alwaysgotten-x5kNowhere yet. It's in theaters. It'll probably be on streaming very soon though. Within a couple months given how most releases have happened in the last few years.
@@adamstrachn thanks a lot .I can't wait to watch it
@@katherineloveday5816 Yes!
So, Eddie Munson can not escape those pesky flower-head demons in any dimension.
I saw the early access event.
This film is a beautiful addition to this universe even if it doesn't expand anything significant. I really felt the ending. I'm definitely gonna have to watch it again to find that song.
I loved it! The emotion had me and my (12yr old who loves scary movies already 😬 my bad ) daughter in tears a few times …and jumping of course
No need to apologize. I saw many scary movies before I reached my teens. That’s just good parenting.
I also loved this movie. Was not expecting that at all. Its all about the characters. Even if a story is mid good characters that connect with the audience elevate any movie considerably. My favourite of the year so far🎉
I guess you could say it is directly linked to the main franchise through Djimon Hounsou's character being in both? I had a good time with it, I like the little hints of further lore they're adding around the monsters.
Just got out of the movie!! Absolutely loved it and you hit the nail on the head with the points, was balling my eyes out!! 😂😂 I have a cat like frodo!! So was very invested
Thanks Emma for being not just the best reviewer of horror films but the best reviewer of all on TH-cam. Your genuine reactions and heartfelt insights free of all the influencer trappings is so rare nowadays. You're a credit to our whole community.
The 'travel to the cinema' music section of the video was tight!😊😊😊
Saw this with my boyfriend yesterday and he doesn't tend to give horror movies very high ratings cause they never scare him, but even though this one didn't scare him either he gave it an 8 just because the story and characters and all that was really good, even said "definitely the best one"
Also, he looked at me at a certain point and caught me just silently bawling my eyes out lol
love you and love your opinions on films, we usually agree 90+% of the time. I am so excited to see this Friday night. And THANK YOU for providing info on the Cat... I am ultra sensitive to animals in film so I am able to prepare myself accordingly.
Emma crying after a movie review is a win for me! 💞
the only spoiler that I need: The cat survive?... LOVEEEE YOUR VIDEOS SOOOOO MUCH. Hugs from venezuela!
I'm also here for that 😅
Im here for that too! I don’t know if my heart could handle it 💔
Same 😅
I knew it would. They don’t make a peep when they don’t you to find them
guys, check the very end of the video description for the cat situation
Just watched it! It was fantastic! I was so stressed out and emotional by the end ❤❤❤
Had to go home and hold my kitties 🐈
Thanks for the review, Emma. Now I'm looking forward to seeing this movie even more! It looks like A Quiet Place is becoming that VERY rare breed; a consistently GOOD horror franchise!?! HOORAY!!!
Awesome. Have to rewatch The other 2 first. Stay spooky !!
Totally agree with you! Didn't expect to cry in an horror action movie 😭 but if I think about it all this franchise has a very impactful substance in terms of emotins
It was so sweet to see you so emotional about it❤ so glad to hear it's great!
Can one rent space to live in those theaters, cause jealous 😅 I was watching this since it was first announced 🤘🏼Ĺove how she transforms into her characters. Glad you got to see it sooner and POV appreciated 🙌🏾
Thank you so much for the spoiler at the end of your description! I had to know before I go see this! Your reviews are the best!❤
I am sad I can't watch this one on the big screen for the same reason I can't do other Quiet Places -- some loud sounds, especially jump scares, are physically painful for me. But I love the idea of this movie, have always loved the concept, and might wait till it comes to streaming.
I sold this movie to my family as, “It looks like Independence Day, but everyone has to be quiet.” So we were all expecting a high stakes action movie. 😂 My bad. The first two movies follow a nuclear family. I love how this movie asks the question, “What if you’re not with or near your family when the invasion comes? What if you’re a traveler? What if you’re already dealing with something existential?” Great idea. There were a lot more creatures in this film and they were soooo loud! Every time they would pursue a tiny sound it made me think of the stampede in Jumanji. I was amazed that they could hear anything over all the noise they were making. They were a stampede of ransackers. 😂 Obnoxious!
Thsnks Emma. The cinema listed the wrong start time yesterday so I had to walk in 10-15 minutes late & I didn't know about the hospice angle. The last scene makes more sense now.
You're the greatest! 🙂
Thanks for the heads up. I just very recently lost my best friend, and I'm not sure if I'm in the right head space to watch a movie like this.
Love all your content, wish i could binge watch all these movies with you
Hi Emma 😊 ! My favourite New York City based film since Escape From New York 🗽.
Thank you for mentioning the cat..i was worried when i saw the trailer. I am loving the premier photos of the cast with the cats, so adorable. The actors seem to have excellent chemistry
Im going to see the movie later on
Im so hyped for this! Seeing it on sunday!! Thanks for the review ❤
so fucking excited now. I love when i cry in a theater and look around and see I'm not the only one. Horror and sadness have a lot more in common then we think.
7:31 I just can't deal with this. Just lost 2 of my 😺 to a disease. Just can't...
I'm really sorry for your loss. If you're interested in the movie, SPOILER: the cat is fine throughout and survives ❤
@@CarolineCP 😄
Hi Danni and Allie! That's so cool they came to visit you!
That initial visceral reaction has me SO READY to see it tomorrow!
*HUGS* Hope you're feeling less sad now, Emma!
Thank you again for this channel. It helps my anxiety during troubling days. Speaking of which, I absolutely Loved QP:D1. I knew going into Inside Out 2 I would leave an emotional wreck. I had no idea I would be equally (if not more so) wrecked by a movie centered around an alien invasion. The emotional journey of the two main characters made the journey so emotionally beautiful. And yes, I was worried about Frodo the whole time. Thank you for your channel. Looking forward to your thoughts on Longlegs.
That cat better be nominated for an Oscar!!!!
Great music selection for the broll. Love that type instrumental.
ur review helped me decide to see this in theaters now
I'm excited to see this Now after your review. You crying gott me all teary eyed. Thanks for the warning about the cat so i can be prepared. 💜
Thank you so much for letting us know about the cat! That was what was holding me back the minute I saw that there was a cat in the trailer.
I love the movie it gave me almost the same feels I have for 28 days later with those little scenes of just being human and the way the 2 get to know each other throughout it all and it’s just so artistic in that way then the other ones but definitely still think the first 2 are my fav
I'm going this weekend. Thanks for your review.
Joseph Quinn has been super busy!! He did this and Gladiator 2 comes out in November…and these aren’t little movies!!
It seems that both you and Vicky had the same reaction to this film, Emma. I'm not surprise because you can get emotional with this film. I know the part of the film that scared you because I jumped at that scene as well. Excellent entry into the series.
I liked this one. Decent story, entertaining. What it was missing was the daughter played in the John Krasinski movies that is deaf and played by a deaf actress. I like the representation and that she is the hero of the story. I look forward to whenever the third movies of that series comes out.
Glad you enjoyed it !! I'm even more excited to see it now 😊
I was able to see the movie today in the Cinema and I have to say I really enjoyed it as well. I was very surprised at the end when I started to tear up, I wasn’t expecting that, especially from that type of film. That was real emotion and I’m happy to hear that I wasn’t the only one who felt like that.
I was on the fence as to whether or not I wanted to see this movie...
Thank you for your amazing review, and making up my mind for me!!
Wow that freaked me out, I never expected you to come out crying out what is supposed to be a horror movie but I am glad is awesome, looking forward to seeing it tomorrow.
I'm hoping to go see it tonight!
THANK YOU!!! For your great content and caring enough about us to give us this spoiler!!💕
Love Lupita. Like the other actor that has Robert Downey Jr eyes. Can’t wait to see it on Saturday!
I barely remembered anything from Part 2 & had little interest in a prequel. I reluctantly ended up seeing Day One & was very surprised in a good way. I don't know if they'll be able to top this with other spinoffs/sequels.
Just watched this yesterday. Gotta say, cosign on your giddy praise of the actors' performances. I really didn't care for Joseph Quinn in Stranger Things (but I really didn't like that season in general) but I was blown away by his acting in this movie. Lupita was subtly genius as always. I enjoyed this more than the first two films.
Love your reviews! Seeing this film tonight, exited!
I'm just glad you took some of your friends with you, that Multiplex you usually go to is creepier than the Menendez brothers. It always creeps me out when you go alone into that thing.
It might benefit to watch this one first. QP is really shaping up to be a great drama/horror property. I hope they do another one.
From the Director of PIg...say nothing more! I'm surely gonna love this
Awesome review 👏 cant wait to see this one! Thank you ❤
Hey this movie really had that existential Pig vibe (the Director’s other film). A very emotional and humane story.
This was really interesting, as I usually agree with you most of the time. This time I had a totally different experience and just couldnt connect with the characters of Day One at all and was bored a lot. Thanks for your review as always!
Damn! But it happens I guess! Sorry you didn’t like it
Just bought my ticket for next week on IMAX!
i'm now excited to watch it
It makes me so happy see you this excited for a movie! I have had tickets for my partner and I to see it in RPX on Friday night for weeks now. You have me so damned pumped more than I already was!
I legitimately Tear jerk and Cry like 4 more times. 😿 But I wasn’t born in New York!
Though i like part 1& 2 a lot i wasn't particulary curious for another movie but thanks to your review i am.
What i like about a quiet place is how it respects it's characters and makes the viewer care about their fate. I also appreciate how it doesnt rely on blood and gore, but i wouldn't mind seeing more.
Absolutely agree with your thoughts 👀 my only issue is that I wish this wasn’t called day one cause we don’t really learn anything and as a prequel I think it failed . This could have been another day in this universe
Spot on review. They got the right director to tell this story!
Oh no...I have metastatic terminal cancer....is this going to make me bawl like a baby too????
Thank you for the tiny spoiler! Those are the kinds of spoilers I don't mind.
So interesting what different people find scary - this movie was SO SCARY to me! There was one particular scene where I was like semi holding my breath and almost hyperventilating from fear, so intense! Not saying you're wrong, it's just interesting what "scary" means to different people. But I gave the movie the same rating as you in the end, reeeally liked it!
Someone probably already said this, but John Krasinski co-wrote it, so he had a hand in it, but wasn’t as involved for this film as the other two. Love your videos! Keep up the great work ❤❤❤
Gonna go see it tomorrow!
I cried constantly during the movie 😭
Im glad you enjoyed it Emma but i saw it last night & during the movie found myself thinking about Cloverfield & how much i enjoyed that film
Just a suggestion, but it might be interesting if you splice the official movie trailer in between the cut after you enter the theater/cinema and before you re-enter the car, just to give a taste of what you've watched. Love your channel.
I try to use as little of the trailer as possible in these videos
Thanks for the review, Emma. It's on my watchlist and hoping to see it soon.
Why weren’t you ready when it’s basically the EXACT SAME STORY
Woop! Your review has definitely made me want to go see this at the cinema for sure!! My 2 cats are my babies so bit nervous about what happens to the cat... but... i'm hardcore so gonna go anyways!!! I love the emotional aspect you spoke about. Super excited!
Ok so… Norwegian thriller “Good Boy”… Woman meets the dream man only to find out his roommate acts like his dog and yeah… I watched it on Amazon Prime. I’d love to hear your hot take on it.
Yes I’ve spoken about it before!!
I just saw it today, and im so glad i went into this completely blind. It wasnt what i expected, but it was an incedible film, and another great addition to the franchise.
I saw it last night and loved it - one of the greats from 2024 so far and I can still safely say that this franchise is consistently high quality!
I didn't really like Pig (even though that film has virtually everything I like in indie dramas in it, up to a very subdued Nic Cage), but now I'm curious about this A Quite Place spin-off after seeing your swelled eyes and blurred makeup LOL.
It was filmed in the UK, not in New York. They did an okay job at trying to cover it up. Thx for your thoughts, as always.
That's not unusual. Scream 6 takes place in new york too.... but it was shot in montreal canada. Its all about those tax credits.
Nice review. I have been looking forward to this one. It is missing my favorite character (the deaf child) in the other A Quiet Place but I like the franchise in general.
"Spoiler-free review" - "the main character goes to treatment and she's at a hospiz" :D
I think that was actually a hidden detail in the promo material. I was surprised by it atleast, but idk, maybe that was a known information.
It’s the first shot in the film
@@spookyastronautsand that matters how? it's still a spoiler
@@spookyastronautsyeah and one of the trailers revealed it too so you're goo!
@@mister.r94it's in the trailer....
Since the 1st movie I've always believed these death Angels are the attack dogs of the real Aliens.
Maybe the next movie the Real invading Aliens will show up.
I am SO excited now. I'd read some not great reviews from others who have seen it, and it didn't sound very good. I can't wait to watch it! Thanks Em!!
glad i am not the only one who bawled my eyes out 😭
Glad we had the same feelings..definitely full of heart
Loved that Djimon Hounsou connected this movie to QP2
Awesome review. I saw the film and felt the same way. Glad I found your channel. Subscribed 👍🏽
Welcome !
Such destruction with such emotional turmoil - also sounds like you could be talking about Godzilla minus one.
This is quite the recommendation though. I haven't watched any quiet place films but i think I'm going to have to get into it now though
So glad it was a great film. Seeing it Saturday
I saw this in cinema last week and it was awesome, I was so scared for the cat the entire movie
