Kibz. Your soldiers are not counted as super soldiers until they have ALL ther upgrades. They are missing ther health upgrade and ther range/vision upgrade. Both are in the beginning of the tech tree.
Have you considered the Corpse Harvesting line of techs? Getting 2g per kill really adds up and allows a much more expansive earlygame, as well as giving you as much cash as you need to build fallback lines during waves.
soldiers are better than snipers for campaign the 2.5 range difference doesn't really make up for the squishyness and slow movement speed now that soldiers are capable of 90dps compared to the 132 that snipers are
@@death299 If you manage to get the wonder which makes all your barrack units veterans at the recruitement, snipers become really OP, because they go from 0,43 atk speed to 1,26, so they can dish out a Ton of dps once they reach veterancy (they'll still lack armor thought, so keeping some soldiers in front might still be a good idea). I've also experienced that snipers do incredibly well combined with Lucifer : they OS the zombies the Lucifer can't handle well, like Venoms and the fat ones, while the Lucifer will wipe all the small stuff with ease, so the snipers can do their job really well.
Considering how much you love the snipers in the survival and custom maps, I'm surprised you got this far into the campaign without unlocking them in the tech tree. You'd think they would be a sure-fire choice to take on this map in particular, seeing as they pack quite the punch.
even though im used to seeing "spoiler" clips as the intro since forever from you Kibz, this one peeves me a lot... i would of liked to be surprised instead.
Those sort of waves always threw me. My balanced defence will be fine and...Mass Mutant only? Well I regret building Shock Towers. Hanz! Put down the Flammenwerfer and get me more SNIPERS!
Also the Merc tech in the beginning of the tech tree, gives you +1 Ranger and 1 Sniper. But it is debatable if good or not. Note: Zombies, can, and most likely will spawn in any area with a fog of war fog. So even if you have cleared an area, zombies can spawn in that area, unless it is being watched, or has some kind of line of sight. The devs took it up, as a means to stop cheesing of the game, where people cleared out a large portion of the place then ran away from that specific place. However it is very inconsistent on when, and where, it does it.
@@ImKibitz Tried to find the steam forums post about it again (As I was looking at how zombies could just walk past all of my rangers on the first dead city map. Specially since I had people guarding the only ways in, and out of my place, yet somehow a walker, had gone past all of my rangers, gone to the tesla towers, turned them, and then turned my whole base upside down *sad face*), But could only find this old post about it, will keep on trying to find the one where Gozmes responds to the situation (Just have to dig a lot). steamcommunity.com/app/644930/discussions/0/1499000547494155966/
Long Range Rifle adds +1 to sight and range for the soldiers, plus, get to the medical center, you will need these points for titans. Remember cape of the storms? Now it shall be even more awesome!!!
you know the soldiers would be enough you just got to keep em back enough that they don't pull everything but close enough they draw the atention of a few of them.
ImKibitz, please get efficient turbines, it's soo good, upgrading the turbine's energy output from 30 to 39 and also get long range rifle and medicine, creating your ultimate soldier. I personally found the upgrade of basic supply really helpful from the start of the game, boosting the early game economy greatly.
Personally I had only around 60 soldiers when I cleared the nest, but instead of rushing in I used the gunfire of my soldiers to attract them outside 1 small number at a time. Took me longer too clean the flow of harpies, but they didn't rush out all at the same time, so I thought it was safer than fighting the entire flood at once.
ImKibitz, NNNOOO!!!! you should of got the upgrade for music which reduce the mercenary time to two days per recruitment instead of the game and gamble which is three day per recruitment.
Ooops! Unlocking mercs every 3 days (Games and Gambling) when you are next to the mercs every 2 days tech (Music - just past High Technology, 200 research points) is a bit of a waste. Great content anyway! Keep it up!
Games and Gambling is a prerequisite for music (ie you can't unlock Music tech without unlocking Games and Gambling first). Glad you're enjoying the series though!
@@ImKibitz, OK. That will teach me to avoid the Inn tech. Never had a spot in survival mode to get any decent units out it so in three runs through the campaign never saw a reason to go for it. :)
am i the only one screaming to " profesional soldier" instead of chossing "military training" 20% harder walls with a extra soldier at the begnning of the mission
Spoiler: Everything go Oof :)
The nest of regrets
Who would expect?
I'm kinda surprised that you still haven't got concrete walls. They'd make your defences a lot more effective.
kibitz you have the campaign on easy mode of course there's space you would have to clear more if you were on apocalypse mode
@@MrSumphora stone wall have 2.5 times the health of wood walls. I am surprised how many delay getting them. Most OP tech in the tree if you ask me.

Ooooooo spicy! I'll give them a look!
My god the health and vision and dmg and armour make them absolute beasts
everyone is super promoting super soldiers in comments; I wonder if you can do without them even on higher difficulties : p
@@matrixfull I tried on brutal. Impossible to do the first swarm missions without them. Snipers and rangers dont kill the runners fast enough
: o well damn! I guess there isn't any way around it or almost none anyhow. Good to know!

Legend has it that, one day, Kibitz will research snipers, and will stop struggling so goddamn much.

Thank god Kibz finally gets stone walls. Them wooden walls keep giving me heart attacks during waves.
Kibitz: Wants lucifers and soldiers
Lucifers and soldiers: costs iron
Kibitz: doesn't build iron mines until day 30

Used Snipers too much in other maps and wanted to switch things up a bit
@@ImKibitz That's a fair point. I get the feeling you may be tempted later down the line though, especially when giants start becoming more common
