How did you get to breed them is there a service for this because I have a female golden she's 3 years old, and I was thinking if she could mate now, but how do I find a male ?
I worked with my girl's breeder and sought out a mentor. They taught me how to show my dogs, what health clearances they needed to breed, taught me about the importance of progesterone testing and how to read pedigrees to find a good match for your dog, got me associated with local Golden Retriever clubs and the GRCA, etc. I'd recommend starting with the breeder you got your girl from for advice and suggestions, as well as have health testing done now on her hips, eyes, elbows, and heart in accordance with the GRCA rules and go from there.
Do you have a mentor or breeder friend nearby? Have you done progesterone testing? She may not be ready. Your best bet is to find a good reproductive vet and have her get a pre-pregnancy exam and progesterone test. Then, ask your dogs breeder(s) or another breeder of your breed to help/mentor you in the process.
We try for 2-3 ties every other day after ovulation. I believe this was the first day after she ovulated. We generally wait for the second day after ovulation but they both seemed ready, so we started early.
It is possible she could still become pregnant from a “slip tie”, but far less likely. Best way to know for certain is to ultrasound around 30 days after you suspect she may have been bred.
Forced mating is when people tie dogs together and hold them in a strong leash, literally forcing them to breed when they don't want to. Sometimes, they are even put in small cages where they cannot even fit.
How do you know if they tied? I’ve had my dogs in the garage while at work. I check up on them when I come home for lunch but I don’t think my female wants anything to do with my male. She’s going to be 4 in February and has never mated.
A female dog can only become pregnant while "in heat". You won't know if they tie if you aren't watching. We do not recommend leaving dogs alone to "do their thing" - it is very easy for the girl (especially a maiden) to get spooked at the tie and try to run away, which can cause great harm to both her and the male. The male may also get impatient - you want to be there and keep both calm until her body releases him from the tie. Your male will also not likely be interested (and neither will she) unless it is the correct time for breeding. Suggest finding a good reproductive vet near you who can mentor you - and do pre-pregnancy exam, progesterone testing / ovulation timing to ensure it is the correct time to breed.
@@LibertyGoldenRetrievers Thank you for the information! My female is in heat but won’t let my male close to her. If it happens it happens if not it’s okay she’ll still be my baby.

I could be wrong in a few points, especially due to the fact we are not considering the several nuances existing in certain groups and/or species (life itself being so unimaginable complex, I love it), but it is pretty much that. I don't think there's any difference in the instinct. Also, if you notice, people often say dogs look like they are just playing/fooling around with each other while actively mating, because... in fact, for them they assume they are just playing, being carried by instinct, meaning not because they intentionally want to produce this or that, you know.
@@NaldinhoGX Thank you so much for the explanation😄
