Great video! Just one question... Those markings on the shock absorber assembly right above the coil spring (3 markings on the upper rubber housing and 1 mark on lower rubber) which way should be facing? Toward the engine or it doesn't matter?
Thank you for your feedback! Colour codes on springs should face outwards. Holes in the strut mounts do not provide any essential information. Kind regards, Autodoc!
is it the same process for a volvo v50 -05 since they have the same structure?. excuse my english
In general, the replacement will be similar, the only thing is that it may differ slightly in the design features of your car. More precise information can be obtained in the technical documentation for the car or by contacting the car service.
Thank you for the demonstration

How do you line up the bearing when fitting it to the spring / shock please?
It looks like the thickest part of the tapered section of the bearing lines up with the flat plate that fits into the hub clamp.
I searched for ages to try and find this info and it seems to be the most obvious question about the whole process
Thank you for your comment.
Please clarify or rephrase your question.

There is a tab on the plastic cover of the bearing. This tab should line up with the end of the top of the spring and there are two tabs that on the top plate that bolts to the car. Those two tabs should face towards the engine when bolted into position. If you do not do this and you fit the strut to the car you will hear a knocking noise from the strut when you drive the car over bumpy terrain. I hope this is of some help. I really like auto docs videos they are so helpful and informative. Thank you auto doc

Good demonstration but very irritating music and detracts from the video content.

So is the top mount tightened to 15nm or 30nm? Subtitles says 15nm video says 30nm, my torque wrench doesn’t go down to 15nm
