Thanks again to Woodsport for sending the lip. They seriously saved my paint job since I didn't get stuck with my cracked lip after all that work.

I met Paul from woodsport when I was in the UK, good guy and knows his stuff. I brought the same lip, a scoopless hapers hatch and a toms replica scoop.

This is awesome, exactly what I needed. My lip has a massive dent, and this is just what I needed. Although I do have a mk1a, but I'll make it work. All I need now is a front right fender lol, then it'll be good as new.

Good upgrade man. I like how bold it is, you’re right it does complement the original lines well.

Removing the wheels for this install would have given you the space needed. But the job was done, and it looks great. Nice fitting!

Yeah I had to just constantly turn the steering wheel back and forth. It worked and there was enough space but was a bit annoying.

Absolutely love these videos and the effort/detail you have put into the mr2 series as a whole. Your videos will be a godsend for when I finally get my hands on one of these incredible cars

Do not drill the same way on a vice! Drill onto a piece of scrap wood

Mine actually kind of sits like yours, I wouldn't say it's crooked but it definitely rides high near the center where the two points intersect. I do wonder how else to make it more flush...

Sweet lip! I was heavily considering one of these before I lucked out and managed to find a decent shape OEM '85 mk1a skinny lip for a fraction of the price, I didn't want to really go aftermarket for the lip and had 2nd thoughts on how it would look with all the black trim pieces on the '85 mk1a. It looks fantastic on the mk1b though!
Are you considering any of the clear lenses for the front, side and rear indicators? They look quite good on the mk1b, and if you want a nicer looking set of oem aluminum pedals, the first gen IS300/last gen celica pedals pretty much swap onto the mk1 with no drilling involved!

I’ve seen those clear lenses and honestly I think the orange looks better for red MR2s. The clear fits more for other colors, but I think they look kind of strange and stand out too much on the red while the orange blends more. Same with the aluminum pedals. Considering there’s no other metal trim in the interior they just look kind of strange. That being said, I do want to add some more color to the all black interior, but I’d do some bits of red and white to match the paint.

@@RetraCast Yeah that's fair the clears would go better on other more contrasting colours, and agreed again on the pedals, I ended going for a momo aluminum steering wheel (Priced out of a decent cond mk1b stock 3 spoke, hated the 2 spoke mk1a wheel!) and an aluminum shift knob (as I just wasn't a fan of the stock pistol grip shifter), both of these thankfully keep the pedals not look too out of place. Can't wait to see your next AW11 video!

Yeah if you have those other parts then it does totally make sense to complete the set. It’s a racier look with all of them

    What size are the bolts?

Do you happen to have a link to the hardware you used? Just got my lip and a set of sideskirts!

    • @RetraCast

Hardware? Like the bolts and bracket? Just went to any hardware store and grabbed some. Technically I brought a bolt off my fender to match it at the store but it really doesn’t matter if the size and thread are different since they are completely separate. All the stuff should only cost a few bucks.
