When Freddie Starr passed away recently we lost one of our most hilarious entertainers. He was a comedy genius and a great all round entertainer. The vile witchhunt into his past which came to nothing im sure hastened his end. I hope those who put him through it were proud of themselves. He is a much missed master of unpredictable comedy. RIP Freddy.

Pure DISGRACE what the media can publish without proof! Freddie Starr was the best of British and entertained us all for years. The man should have had a royal burial, but instead was left to suffer alone in Spain. Very sad, but FOREVER a LEGEND in my eyes, yours, and others!

@@colindavid2078 To see him reduced to a poorly fragile man and a shadow of his former self was heartbreaking mate. At his prime he was up there with the very best and he could have put many of the current crop of talentless crap we have on TV to shame. What a terrible tragic end for him, and surprisingly nobody even mentions him only a few years after his death. Shameful and sickening.

Freddie is a British Icon and bad boy of comedy ... I have it on GOOD authority that he would play brutal tricks on his own band. On a particular Tour of England in the 80's, Freddie decided to play a trick on the guitarist of his band .., he took all the strings off his guitar and took a dump inside the sound hole, re-strung it and waited for the lights to get hot during the show that evening ... the guitarist couldn't figure out where the horrific stench was coming from all night! Can you even imagine ... Freddie knowing what was going on the entire time for his OWN amusement? I was crying when I was told this story ...

The main thing about Freddie was he was predictably unpredictable lol..if you was in the audience you knew you was fair game nobody was safe lol. Only time he does not mess about is singing any Elvis songs.

I grew up watching the shows you react to. Nice to see someone enjoying comedy as it's meant to be. Not many people can watch them anymore without taking offence.at everything where none is intended.👍

Back in the 80's when I was a little girl, my patents used to take me to the seaside, a town called Blackpool, every year during the school holidays. We would always go to see him Live. My Mom used to love him. After every show we'd have to stand outside the back of the theatre, where the acts would come out, for about an hour, may be longer. Some times in the wind and rain. Just so my Mom could meet him in person. And get a picture taken and an autograph. We did this so many times he started to remember our names. And once in the show he mentioned my Mom and how he thought she was a stalker and how he was scared of leaving the theatre that evening... Luckily we were quite a poor family so we were sat up in the top tier of seats where he couldn't get.. lol. When we met him at the stage doors, again, my mom went to give him a friendly slap and he grabbed her and bent her backwards and gave her a huge pretend kiss. When he let go my moms here was all a mess and she looked all hot and bothered. hehehehe. I nearly wet myself with laughter as I tried taking pictures.

The woman whose knee he sat on is a famous UK agony aunt - (ie newspaper columnist who discusses problems people have such as relationships from readers letters )

he used to scare presenters...he was THE most unpredictable comedian. Nobody...not the presenters even ,knew what he was gonna say or do. Des Oconner used to be terrified of his unpredictability...but loved the guy. He was, hands down, the best all round comic ever to perform imo. And what an awesome singing voice he had...when he could be serious that is. None of the people in this crowd..or any of the manasgement had any idea what was gonna happen next. The maggots he threw at the celebrity
crowd in "an audience with Feddie Starr" were in fact rice...but nobody knew that at the time and Faith Brown got really upset beacuse she got covered in,what she thought, was maggots.
