Mississippi Valley State is one of the smallest schools in the SWAC. It wasn’t much room for the buses to fit and the people to park. Also, keep in mind the band itself also has to get prepared as a unit and they have to have the room. It’s not their first rodeo and they do parade season so they are used to marching long distances
Trent, I understand parade season. That’s to far to drop a visiting band off. The buses could’ve gotten to that stadium. The SOD can get parade practice at Alcorn. The football buses are at the stadium. Thanks for replying back. Keep supporting all of our HBCU’s from a 1995 graduate of Gram. I tailgated at Alcorn homecoming 2 weeks ago w/ my brother. He lives in Vicksburg.
@@trentjohnson3302 difference is once a parade is over that's usually it for the band...they have to March a long distance to the stadium,play during the game,then halftime and usually a fifth quarter too...thats alot on even the most in shape

So you must have watched JSU and not Alcorn. Their styles have always been similar but the marching is different. Has a lot to do with the Mississippi connection.
