That mushroom soup makes my mouth water! There is nothing quite comparable to Polish mushrooms. Wonderful video!

you must have similar tastebuds to Nina! I love mushrooms, but I think the cabbage stole the show at this meal :)

Good evening ged and nina. That looked a fantastic meal. I'm a chef and as you said when you pay more for a meal and they use good ingredients you enjoy it more. You got good value when the wine was that price included in the meal. Like all your vlogs but the food ones I like the best with being a chef. As always looking forward to the next one. Cheers.

Thanks Jason. I really enjoyed that meal because of the way every part of the experience fit together. Nothing was overly fancy. Just great consistency. And I liked the wine pairing. Loved that it was locally sourced. That's why I rated the experience highly. Glad you like food ones. Good news there is we will never run out of places to film😃

"In Polish your kitchen " 3 weeks ago , Anna with her Polish dad cooks stuffed cabbage in the style of gołąbki.
In Stary Kleparz must be some gołąbki on sale.
I always search in Kraków for traditional krakowskie gołąbki : stuffed with meat and kasza ,with rice always my 2nd choice.
Just make your lovely : boletous - borowiki
or penny bun -porcini - podgrzybek
    or slipery jacks maślaki sauce
and add to market bought ( but for sure home made gołąbki)
For tomato sauce I find the best ....Przecier pomidorowy / tomato pure in the jar in Bacówka shop.
Love their pasta too ( cooks in 9 minutes only)....saw you cooking Lubella pasta.

Nina's cooking is very good - I wish I could persuade her to do a cooking vid. She just did a lovely bolognaise - we finally visited the butcher on Wolnica Square (and was a v good experience)

Yes I know Nina is a good cook, just wanted to help (as you said you liked the cabbage in the restaurant in gołąbki)
      She likes kasza like me.
I do envy you Bacòwka shop on your doorstep.
So glad you tried that butcher in Wolnica, were they more friendly not rushing you ? Its so local too.

My grandmother used to make zalewajka, it was a very simple soup , not very sophisticated because it didn't require many ingredients, yours seemed much richer. That soup was popular when you couldn't get anything in the shops, I still remember empty shelves. How things have changed, those dishes looked fantastic. Pozdrawiam serdecznie😍😍😍

Word "Gołąbki" comes from XIX century. It was dish that used to be eaten by royals and originally it was stuffed pigeon wrapped with cabbage and it was pretty expensive dish so commoners change recipe with potato and wheats wrapped with cabbage

Zalewajka - traditional rustic soup made of diced and boiled potatoes and with sour rye made from sourdough bread. ( Żurek is made with specially soured flour maturing in the bottles)
It also often contains small quantity , chopped smoked sausage to add more flavour with few dried mushrooms.
Its was a simple and quick peasant soup to feed hungry mouth after spending time baking bread for a whole week.

In the vid from craft fair( one before trip to Warsaw) I asked you if you traveling by Pendolino
You we not sure of the name of the train at that stage.
Told you about Dylan then train enthusiast - "Dylan's travels reports" he has 98 K views on Kraków Pendolino journey.
Once you updated your vid title with Pendolino Express - you vid started appearing on train enthusiasts list on YT - they are watching your train journey.
Have you maybe filmed a footage of your returned Pendolino journey ? One person was asking you in the comments for more Pendolino details, prices , full menu.
Would be interesting how many viewing you would get if you put a vid together about Only your Pendolino journey ? We saw how your seats at first were obscuring part of the window, how easy was to change for better seats.
On other videos , someone was saying that booking Pendolino journey ahead gives you opportunity of great savings.
Your Pendolino Kraków to Warsaw train footage is the latest on YT so far.
    .

    • @planetkrakow
      @planetkrakow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

We didn't take any footage of the return - it was raining and much busier, not too much to show that was any different from the first part of the journey. the return train didn't start in Warsaw but originated at Gdansk, so it was quite busy already when it pulled into Warsaw. I do fancy a trip to Gdansk, will have to find a way to watch out for those bargain fares!

I already see tons of info rail enthusiasts and passengers will find tremendously useful.
Maybe if you checked later Pendolino or earlier train that day .....was going from Warsaw only ?
Maybe its easier to travel on normal week day, less packed ? Was the journey cramped?
To Gdańsk maybe you book family compartment you can lock and sleep.
I know that some businessman travel weekend to be with family in Kraków , krakowian actors do the same back home away from Warszawa some every few days..
Already a lovely list how to plan wisely.
Gdańskn3city you visit in September or even October, you automatically visit 3 cities.
Gdańsk looking a bit like Brugge and Sopot are walkable like Kraków.
Gdynia is more spread out and very windy.
Spent my summer holiday in 3 city for years with my 2 ecentric aunts, while living in Poland.
Those cities are joined with a city train like... Dart train joining Dublin and Belfast . I can ( if you take a hotel in Sopot) see you walking with Nina in the morning on the beach looking for amber.
You need those walks..... Kraków in winter is hit by ugly smog.

we traveled on Monday. Our next trip is possibly Kiev to visit some of Nina's family, but I'd love to squeeze in Gdansk visit in Sept or Oct, even a very brief one. Nina loves the sea so much!
