That’s how I am the first time I play any content. Slowly exploring and seeing what’s hidden. In D1 it turned out that was mostly a waste of time. D2 is much better.
A few things, That Nova bomb was weak. Hunter Melee on a Warlock. What the hell is Uldren's voice? RiP Dinklebot Literally none of these cutscenes were used. Our characters said more in this trailer than Destiny 1 and 2 combined. Darla was Oryx the whole time...
You did not just say our character talked more than in D1 and D2 combined. The only time this character talked was "why don't you put that down so we can talk"
Every war starts with the one death that changes it all... Crota? Skolas? Oryx? SIVA? Ghaul? Panoptes? Xol? The Barons? Eramis? Savathun? All slain, for Darla.
The dlc was originally part of the main game but Activision removed it and sold it separately. pretty sure its the same with Dark below and House of Wolves

I know it hurts to admit it but microtransactions along with the story cuts and massive content reskinned into future dlc for many many years to come, are all bungie's fault. Management along with a pressuring activision led this couldve been masterpiece into the shitter, but it WAS bungie who made all of those horrid calls
I’ve played Destiny off and on since D1 launched. No ships fly in before your friends arrive. The only ships that do fly into the map are Cabal, Fallen and Hive.

There is nothing I’ve ever experienced that gives me as much nostalgia as this game. I was listening to the soundtrack today and it never fails to hit me right in the feels. I love this game and universe SO MUCH, warts and all. I don’t think I’ll ever love another game the way I love Destiny/Destiny 2. I’ve hardly even touched any other games since 2014.
I love how this was three years ago and the hunters name was oryx, both of them have exotics at lvl 5, also the cross hairs look different, and he has a hand canon as a secondary, the scout rifle model is used on a pulse rifle.
the original story plan for D1 was to fight Oryx AND Crota. But then their lead story writer left so they had only a few months to write new plots and create new assets.
Nope. Oryx is just a name that their Art Director/Live Team Lead uses - he's got a whole design lab named after it. Joe Staten (the PC in this video) originally wrote a storyline in which you'd rescue Rasputin, an Exo, from the Hive and work with the Crow and Osiris to destroy the Traveler to save humanity from the Vex. Jason Jones thought this was too linear and too different from the marketing, and many other bungie employees felt the same. Joe quit when there was a lack of direction and they all cobbled together a more open storyline that didn't taint the black and white narrative of the game.

I cannot begin to explain how much I miss Destiny 1 when it first came out. Completely new and fresh world for the first men to venture out and explore, discover all your abilities, etc. It truly is not the same for new players coming into the game now. Nostalgia hits hard
The fact we're getting the exact place back I desperately hope if they're not going to have Uldren be a huge part in the dlc, atleast have that cutscene and maybe some more lines or even a little questline to tell people who don't keep up with the lore where Uldren atleast is
Hell maybe we'll have a Cosmodrome re-introduction quest where we have to find a "rouge Guardian" and we find Uldren who becomes the vendor of the Cosmodrome
343i had to blur out Jason Jones' face and all that. Though when they made ODST backwards compatible, I decided to take a quick look through the actual version of the game considering 343i ruined the HDR, you know? And I got to the poster on the wall and had this flashback to all the ViDocs where they were showcasing on b net what can now be identified as various locations in Destiny both very new or somewhat finished roughly around the time they showed off that first E3 teaser for Reach... And I actually kind of teared up. Harold Ryan is a greedy asshole who ruined Bungie. I'm glad Marty was fired, as a better developer deserves his talent. Jason, Alex, Colin, Marty/Michael, Luke, Eric, Joe - especially Joe - their work evolved into something that was nothing short of incredible in that it still holds up entirely. Everything else aside, their their writing, their mattes (for the sky or whatever), their casting, their emphasis on ass-backwards esoteric means of developing what's nonetheless amazing HDR or sound - EVEN in Destiny - even there their sound work still shows albeit diminished effort held to some of H2/H3&ODST, their pinnacle, in full/some of Reach. Frank is a hypocritical traitor, Microsoft's new CEO is a complete prick, Certain Affinity was no Double Aught, 343i is no Bungie. Bungie is no Bungie. Broken column. A rotunda of six pillars. Monument to all of their sins.
It's not cool. It's sad. The DLC was gonna be part of the game, obviously. You see the rings of Saturn, pointing out the Dreadnaught AND you see an area of the Dreadnaught itself. Destiny 1's content was completely scrapped for DLC, and it's fucking atrocious what Bungie and Activision did.
Joe Staten, among others, wrote the story for this game for SIX YEARS while it was in development just to be told it was to be chopped up into DLC and bereft of everything that made Bungie what they are. It is indeed sad. Though you've got no one to blame but their previous CEO who decided Activision was a great idea. Destiny, if a Tecmo or Sega, hell, even Deep Silver game, probably would not have been anywhere near as fucked up. Honestly though, Microsoft tends to be best at letting a dev keep their vision, though that's at the cost of their own IP.

What do ya think why do you not have your sparrow for the entirety of the red war campaign. Most people rush and run around without ever even glancing at the space they are in and they miss soo many intricate and pretty details. Sometimes when you just look up at the skyboxes in this game and take more than a second it makes you just wanna sit there and enjoy the view. Their job here wasn't to speedrun and be optimal. Their job was to showcase the game.
Peter Dinklage sounds like he's having fun, bosses dropping loot, hand cannon as a secondary, better looking talent trees and UIs, okay, when and why did shit go wrong behind the scenes during the development of this game? Don't get me wrong, I love playing Destiny, but this looks so much better.
This is slowly returning. We got Thunderlord from the captain behind the wall. Uldren has been revived as a guardian. Listen carefully to his dialogue "Why is the city breathing down my neck"" It makes sense because of forsakens events. This scene could still play out. Also we are getting Last word in Black armory from Shin the new owner of it which is what was supposed to happen here as well.

+MLETS what a lot of people don't realize is that many small mechanics/features were taken out of the game because last gen couldn't handle it, for instance being able to destroy dropships, now you can only destroy their weapons, and what you just said
Job Kingma even adding something small like what MLETS said would make me happy, but being able to destroy dropships and, raids can be a lot bigger,the detail and graphics of weapons and armor can look a lot better, maybe destructible environment, maybe for certain crucible maps, but that could be a something the community has to vote for

A nice look back. It's always good to remember that Taniks has no house, he kneels before no banner, owes allegiance to no Kell. He is a murderer and very good at what he does. I have been tracking him since Wolves broke their chains, yeesss? Now Taniks works for Wolfpack, but not for long.
also, the titan had a Ghallyhorn and a Iron banner chest piece at level 11 and the warlock had the void super, but a solar grenade. and the super seemed to have a REALLY short cooldown (despite the guy only using it like 2-3 times) and the icon is where the melee icon should be.
It's so sad to watch this after seeing how much of it got cut out. Little things like better looking player characters, a better conversation with the Speaker, more cinematics, more functionality for your Ghost, even a Dead Orbit faction ship at the end that I've certainly never seen. If it was Activision's fault, why did Bungie let them do this to a potentially amazing game and story? If it was Bungie's fault, why didn't they take more time to make what they really wanted to make?
Jonathan Parker Bungie has a contract with Activision, so there's not much they can say or do to stop them. Apparently, Bungie was running out of money, which gave Activision even more say in the creative process. At the end of the day, I blame Activision for most of the problems with the game.
William Oliver It's a gameplay reveal, not a trailer. Also, a trailer should accurately portray content that's in the game. DLC should not be included in an initial trailer. The point everyone was trying to make is that a lot of content wasn't included in the base game that was shown here. That's something worth being pissed off about.
Coming back to this 6 years later, after shadowkeep, it seems amazing to me how far this game has come. I have practically grown up playing destiny every since I was 12-13. All the memories and friends I have made through this game lets me see past all the stupid sweats in crucible. U truly did make one hell of a game Bungo.
9 years later and i still get the same heart-pumping excitement from D1, my 13 yr old self wouldnt be able to imagine what D2 has become on the eve of Lightfall dropping.
KimJongWins Activision determines what gameplay goes into the final release. They are known to be one of the greediest publishers out there so no doubt they made making these games hell

This game wasn't even on my radar until my online friend got it on day one and pushed me to get it. That one day hooked me for years to come and gave me the best memories and friendships i've ever had.
I remember seeing this on E3 and I was so excited for this game. Destiny 1 will always be in my heart with memories. Destiny 2 is amazing as well but Destiny 1 is were it truly began.

I cannot begin to explain how much I miss Destiny 1 when it first came out. Completely new and fresh world for the first men to venture out and explore, discover all your abilities, etc. It truly is not the same for new players coming into the game now. Nostalgia hits hard

343i had to blur out Jason Jones' face and all that. Though when they made ODST backwards compatible, I decided to take a quick look through the actual version of the game considering 343i ruined the HDR, you know?
And I got to the poster on the wall and had this flashback to all the ViDocs where they were showcasing on b net what can now be identified as various locations in Destiny both very new or somewhat finished roughly around the time they showed off that first E3 teaser for Reach...
And I actually kind of teared up. Harold Ryan is a greedy asshole who ruined Bungie. I'm glad Marty was fired, as a better developer deserves his talent. Jason, Alex, Colin, Marty/Michael, Luke, Eric, Joe - especially Joe - their work evolved into something that was nothing short of incredible in that it still holds up entirely. Everything else aside, their their writing, their mattes (for the sky or whatever), their casting, their emphasis on ass-backwards esoteric means of developing what's nonetheless amazing HDR or sound - EVEN in Destiny - even there their sound work still shows albeit diminished effort held to some of H2/H3&ODST, their pinnacle, in full/some of Reach.

The DLC was gonna be part of the game, obviously. You see the rings of Saturn, pointing out the Dreadnaught AND you see an area of the Dreadnaught itself.
Destiny 1's content was completely scrapped for DLC, and it's fucking atrocious what Bungie and Activision did.
Joe Staten, among others, wrote the story for this game for SIX YEARS while it was in development just to be told it was to be chopped up into DLC and bereft of everything that made Bungie what they are.

Though you've got no one to blame but their previous CEO who decided Activision was a great idea. Destiny, if a Tecmo or Sega, hell, even Deep Silver game, probably would not have been anywhere near as fucked up. @Sylis TM No but it has to do with the fact that it's meant to SHOWCASE. Not just abilities and movements but the world. What do ya think why do you not have your sparrow for the entirety of the red war campaign. Most people rush and run around without ever even glancing at the space they are in and they miss soo many intricate and pretty details. Sometimes when you just look up at the skyboxes in this game and take more than a second it makes you just wanna sit there and enjoy the view.
Their job here wasn't to speedrun and be optimal. Their job was to showcase the game.

This is slowly returning. We got Thunderlord from the captain behind the wall. Uldren has been revived as a guardian. Listen carefully to his dialogue "Why is the city breathing down my neck"" It makes sense because of forsakens events. This scene could still play out. Also we are getting Last word in Black armory from Shin the new owner of it which is what was supposed to happen here as well.

It's so sad to watch this after seeing how much of it got cut out. Little things like better looking player characters, a better conversation with the Speaker, more cinematics, more functionality for your Ghost, even a Dead Orbit faction ship at the end that I've certainly never seen.
If it was Activision's fault, why did Bungie let them do this to a potentially amazing game and story? If it was Bungie's fault, why didn't they take more time to make what they really wanted to make?
Jonathan Parker Bungie has a contract with Activision, so there's not much they can say or do to stop them. Apparently, Bungie was running out of money, which gave Activision even more say in the creative process. At the end of the day, I blame Activision for most of the problems with the game.

William Oliver It's a gameplay reveal, not a trailer. Also, a trailer should accurately portray content that's in the game. DLC should not be included in an initial trailer. The point everyone was trying to make is that a lot of content wasn't included in the base game that was shown here. That's something worth being pissed off about.

Coming back to this 6 years later, after shadowkeep, it seems amazing to me how far this game has come. I have practically grown up playing destiny every since I was 12-13. All the memories and friends I have made through this game lets me see past all the stupid sweats in crucible. U truly did make one hell of a game Bungo.

This game wasn't even on my radar until my online friend got it on day one and pushed me to get it. That one day hooked me for years to come and gave me the best memories and friendships i've ever had.
I remember seeing this on E3 and I was so excited for this game. Destiny 1 will always be in my heart with memories. Destiny 2 is amazing as well but Destiny 1 is were it truly began.
