Hey drew, hopefully you see this message. I’ve got the same 272xp with a full wrap my chain brake looks a little different and it won’t disengage when on the saw, but off the saw I can disengage and throw it back on?? What handle are you using for it??
Mine has the factory 272xp full wrap and they had different covers that had the chainbrake handle slightly forward to allow extra clearance. Also make sure your handle isn’t bent forward. It’s very common to have bent handles on these old saws.
@@bigjake352 clutch hub or bearing could be worn and the springs could be a touch weak. But if it’s idling real low it’ll make it sound like that too sometimes. These are old saws now and most of the parts are worn out these days unfortunately so sometimes you gotta make the best of them!
@@drewscreations8551 yeah I’ve had it for about 5 years , man it starts every time within 4 pulls, I did do base gasket delete it’s at 190psi compression it just loves to run
Thanks! Both are great, can’t go wrong with either, but 372s are more comfortable to run due to better antivibe and they have a little more power. I prefer a 372 but wouldn’t turn down a 272
@@drewscreations8551 Nice! I got a 272xpg now and it’s as good as new! Love it but after 2 days of wood work the back reminds you that you’re into old saws! 😂
That was 7/8s which is a tad bit big on a stock saw but with the right tune it’s fine. Usually 3/4 is good for most general muffler mods 50-70cc on stock saws. The bigger the pipe you use the more fuel it’s going to want to burn.
I had my 272xp ported and it really came to life. The muffler is stock.
Good looking saw! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks!
Buddy that thing sounds really good.
Thank you!
Love it man great saw looks good.
Hi, just found your site. Can you tell me where to get the full wrap handle? Thanks, Larry
Glad you found me. Unfortunately that handle has been sold for a long time.
To Bad. Any chance you know where to find another one?
@ they pop up every now and again on eBay and saw groups

What size did you go with? I want to mod my 272 muffler as well. What do you use for a general rule?
