Of all the Scots actors people usually know, Gerard Butler, Ewan McGregor, Sean Connery, Karen Gillan, etc, James is the one who tends to speak in his natural 'brogue' from time to time and it usually stuns people if they have never heard the Scottish dialect before. Many Scots on TV try to speak clear English because the dialect we speak "Lowland Scots" is a mashup between English, Gaelic and county-specific colloquialisms, similar to how South Africans speak Afrikaans, a mashup between Dutch and English.
