@@asimplestrawberry that’s such a case in psychology. Like dealing with scary environment and talking just anything because it comforts, plus it shuts up other noises. And language is not even a big deal. For bilinguals or multilinguals there’s no difference. As you can see he was saying nonsense that didn’t fit the scene, but even switching the languages is not a big deal, when it’s an extreme situation. Brain knows what person is saying.
@@Diana-whathappenedin97 Actually language switching can be a sign of stress too. For example in the army, when there are multiple nationalities of medical staff, they tend to pair together people of the same nationality during a crisis if possible as everyone tends to switch to their first language pretty much automatically. You have very limited mental space to think in a different language if you're very stressed, so you switch to your "default". But the amount of stress must play a big role as well, I think.
