Hello everyone! This is part 1 of 6 of our week long adventure in the wilderness! I will be releasing each of the other parts as follows: Weds - Part 2, Sund - Part 3, Weds - part 4 etc. I hope you all enjoy as it was an awesome trip! And yes, we did get our thunderstorm we are always looking for. If you like the video, do me a huge favor and hit that like button!
In other current news and plans, many of you know I am a busy body lately. I will eventually be releasing this springs adventure and this one as a condensed version for those that like to either watch a more action packed video or if you just want to revisit it without the breaks! No schedule on when those come out, could be a month, could be the middle of winter!
It also seems that the 14 night trip with Jake Ski Guy is a go. This is adding to what is making me so busy currently as that is a longer trip and I need to plan videos ahead of time. There is a chance, though I will try to do my best, that there may not be a Halloween video this year as I will be out in the wilderness during this time. You might also get stuck with a couple chat videos 2 weekends in a row after this series finishes, but the weekend after you will get the 14 night trip series. Again, this is all up in the air as I am just doing what I can!
After the 14 night trip series concludes you should expect to see snow on the ground and I will be trying out some shelter building! I also really want a fall rain overnight camp when the bugs are gone but that is up to mother nature.
Anyways, hope you guys enjoy this trip!
Keep it up . I'm waiting for ur video in winter. Heavy snow. Monty lol
😍 love it!
Great video Mattdog (Nickname for a Homie)straight fishing 🎣 🚣🏼♂️🇨🇦gangsta lol!!!✌🏻🤡I always enjoy the wilderness 🌲🌲🏕🌲journeys with you. Your 🐺lone wolf pal Kekoa.
Matthew Posa always worth waiting for my Monty weekly fix! The only thing have to wait till late Sunday in the UK 🇬🇧😒! Can’t wait for snow they are my faves x
Would love to see an Autumn rain or storm overnight or 2 day trip, my absolute favorite weather! Loved the sunset shot and how majestic Monty looked. Official new title:....Mr. Majestic Monty Esquire 🐶💕🏕🌅🍂🍁
Hey Matt, a few weeks ago while on Knife Lake, you met my dad when you stopped at that campsite during the storm and he thought that the fact that you record all of your trips was the coolest thing ever! He watches all of your videos now!
Hahaha! Awesome! Tell him I said thank you for the shelter and whiskey! It was much needed. They were a couple of good fellas!
Hi I’m a seventy year old grandmother and I have just recently started watching your videos and enjoyed them so much I subscribed to watch more. All I can say is you are serious about camping, cooking, fishing, and loving Monty. Your are very good at it all and I’m impressed. You give a lot of useful information and some really good recipes, you even have the ability to be a comedian. You are truly a well rounded likable guy. I only have one question, do you ever get scared? I would. Oh I forgot , your even really good at making videos of all you do. You could give lessons to a lot of people on you tube
Glad you enjoy! I don't get too scared!
I can’t get my head around the size of wilderness there still is in the United States / Canada. So much untouched land, it’s unbelievable
G'day, Australia has approx. same area as the USA but only 25 million people. LOTS of wilderness and empty beaches. Room to breath, we are lucky.
@@claudiu9468 I have been camping in Australia were the nearest person was over a hundred miles away, and more.
@@claudiu9468 The Fires were grossly exaggerated by the MSM. I saw pictures/maps that made it look like the whole country was on fire. We have had worse fires many times. Get them about once every 10 years.
I can’t imagine filming a portage, picking the canoe up, putting it down, grabbing the camera, putting it down, etc, etc. Awesome work as usual!
Me either Doug, those of us paying close attention see the "extra" stuff he does that makes his videos stand head and shoulders above the thousands here on TH-cam. I know not everyone can but if you love this channel and can afford to chip in and keep Matt and Monty out in the woods and on the water where they belong you should. I'd sincerely hate to tune in one day to find out Matt and Monty had to get a job and not have the time, energy and $$ to keep making these awesome videos for us.

Shawn Dowling I just saw this and became a patron. Thanks for the reminder.
Hi what is a portage?
@@maryannsewnath7914 iI think it can have different meanings but for Matt it is when he leaves one lake and carries his gear/boat over land to the next lake. I've googled where he makes these "Boundary Waters Natl PK" and it looks like an amazing place with lots of lakes very close together, perfect for what Matt does on his channel.

@@sean4661 thank you😊
I hope you know how lucky you are to have Monty. He is the perfect companion and knows what to do on every trip.
I love how sometimes your dog just chills, he is sooo cool
He always chills! He's the best.
I have never seen a man so satisfied in eating such a simple dinner in my life, being super hyped about a little fish, or appreciating the sunset every night. This is how life should be, that pure joy for the little things we sometimes miss. Keep up the good work man, I really look up to you and i'm glad i'll be able to do this myself someday.
you don't know just yet how this beast called monty has shaped your life and will leave you a better man than you ever knew you could be
Another excellent adventure with his human. Thanks Monty!
I truly look foward to living through your videos! Absolutely love them! I have always loved camping...me and wife did it for the 23 years we had together...she passed 4 years ago july...so i havent been but 1 time and that was this summer so im hoping to go more now. I bought a cotton canvas 5 meter yurt and a G stove view and titanium cookware and twig stove. Thermorest sleep pad boreal 21 saw and a silky saw..gerber bushcraft knife several fire steels...you have inspired me to get outdoors and start living again... look foward to watching you every video. Keep up the good work and give monty a good rub for me...
That's awesome!
I am so sorry to hear about that. I am very happy to help inspire you to get back out there! I am sure she will be right there with you when you get back out there! Will do!
Sorry for your loss 😥 You should absolutely get back out in nature and honor your wife. It will make you feel so much better. Bless you my friend.
We need a shirt that says "Off to a late start" 😅
Hahaha!
and one that shows some oatmeal in a bowl with "Soupy" lol
😆 that'd be awesome...
YES please make that shirt!
10/10 would buy
Love watching your videos. Reuger and you remind me of each other -- so playful and excited to be outdoors, and Monty and your good lady wife remind me of each other -- appreciative of the wilderness and calm. . And you all 4 do so well together.
Omgoodness. Beautiful opening. Monty's profile backgrounded by that beautiful autumn sky! Earth. How fragile.
Nothing better than a gorgeous sunset and a fishing line in the water. Except with man's best friend to keep you company. Love the videos.
Dog and man working as one so lovely , stays right by your side and don’t cause any issues
We the people demand a “I got a late start” montage
:O!

"Is it the noodle that makes the dish? Or is it the sauce?" Deep, Posa, deep... 🤔
That shot of Monty in front of the setting sun. Le sigh. Wonderful
that one full minute of a guy and his dog staring each other down by a campfire might be the best 60 secds of video ever made!!!
The water like glass so pretty having a memory
Aw matt your so nice I saw your pretty blue your killing me (funny) Monty to but his are brown you have him trained well good job be safe
I don’t know sorry
Great start. It was a nice balance between fishing and camping. I also liked the early dinners too and taking only a few bites and cutting to the dessert. We agree that you are one of the more creative "chefs" out of the bush crafters. Monty eats better than most people. You're a great guy. Later from Florida!
I really love watching these extended versions. That spaghetti fettuccine alfredo philosophical banter had me laughing out loud!
My husband and I REALLY look forward to your videos each week. Never dull and enjoyable and inspiring. Keep up the great videos!!
Pee poops Mc toots had me laughing out loud
Me too 😆!
Me 3😆!!
Me 4
Giant water bugs are insane. My friend caught one for her aquatic invertebrate collection at our field camp and she didn't have a kill jar so she put it in a container with some other inverts she had caught, and the giant water bug ate the other insects and lived for a week until we got back into town.
Those bugs are called water bugs, they have a very painful bite, and they often confuse huge parking lots as small lakes and ponds when huge lights are above such as car lots in the middle of nowhere. They fly, and bite hard.
Thank you! I have a chronic illness and I have laughed more in the last couple of days than I have in the last 10 years! Finding you and Monty has been a joy!
Best feeling ever! Seeing a new adventure with Matt and Monty 😁
Me 2😁👍🏼✔💯
OMG that toe biter looks like a huge roach and I am from the South and that was terrifying. Made me think of these flying huge Palmetto bugs down here. I am not scared of spiders, snakes, ect... but them roaches though ewwwwww!!!!! Never can get used to them and in Key West- They are fricking bigger, ugh. Thanks for the longer video. I loved it
i did 4.5 miles on the trails today through oak forest. Tired but feeling great, come home and see a new Matt and Monty episode!!... life is good. Thanks guys!!
Matthew that giant bug in the water is actually a toe biter and they have a very and I mean very painful bite. When they grab your toe they use a long hypodermic needle type mouth and it's equivalent to dropping a brick on your toe.
ooh lets get a cuppa and settle warm and comfy for the next couple of hours.. Pure joy.. Thank you Matthew and Monty xx
You're welcome!
Definitely!! Couldn't agree more!
That Toe-biter was crazy...and it flies. Not something I'd want to encounter at night.
I'm always impressed to see how far you get in a day, and just how beautiful it is. Also - you do a really great job of setting up the shots that reinforce the travel you're doing. Excellent camera work.
I need one of these light weight solo canoes .......just awesome !
You are so blessed Matthew 😊 Stay safe ♥️🐕♥️
How do you not have 500K subs by now? This channel is awesome!
I dunno! They shall come with time!
If they haven't already I'd not be surprised if one of the networks comes calling. Ever watch"SV Delos" Matt? They've had offers but turned them down.
@@MatthewPosa 190K subs! yay!
Best way to end a day is in bed in the dark watching Matt and the stinky butt Monty camping and fall asleep listening to their camp fire. Best camping vids on YT by far!
So happy 2 see u n monty on another adventure love you 2 so much
Monty looking so majestic!!!
Sounds like you're trying to catch the Brady Bunch for dinner lol. "Bobby, Peter" love it!
A freeze dried ice cream sandwich? Who"d a thunk it?! Matt, I say this with all sincerity, you produce the BEST outdoor adventures of anybody! I have subscribed to dozens of channels over the past three years or so, but there is NO DOUBT that I enjoy you, Monty and Rueger better than any of the others! You are very professional in your work. Thank you!
I really needed a laugh when I restarted this post and I was lucky enough to come back right at the spaghetti/Alfredo/fettuccini talk!! LOL - it really turned my mood around!! Thanks so much!! Miss Rosie says thanks too as she is none too pleased with her new cat sister, Lola and needed a laugh too!! Poor kid!!
That water is so beautiful perfect day for fishing
We love the way you appreciate beauty in nature!
21:21 your bag is literally Mary Poppins bag 😂 I counted over 15 different objects getting pulled out 😂
Hahaha!
I like your channel, i enjoy watching you and monty camping. keep it up 👍👍👍
You are very, very good at framing your walkthrough shots. I'm imagining what it's like to hike and imagine different camera view points... go set up the shot... seems really fun. You've really discovered your strengths... and we all get to enjoy it!
Thank you for being you and being here down to earth sanity yay
just couldn't resist that first cast .....LOL
Your photography skills are really getting better and better. That sunset was amazing. Thank you for taking us all along on your adventure. Can't wait to see more.
Monty and the sunset.... Dream!! So beautiful!!!
Here we go! Happy it’s up in the morning before my Broncos get busy! Haha thanks Mr Posa!
Thanks for taking us along Matt. Good to see Monty feisty.
Love the part where you brushes Monty (1:43:16.) The warm sun lay on you and Monty; the color of the grass and Monty's fur are just so beautiful. Ah!
:D
Hi Monty and Matt! Wonderful....... Can't wait to see what's next!🦄🇺🇸💜
Loved this. Food looked awesome as always Chef Posa. Looking forward to Wednesday.
Bush philosophy at mealtimes and great sunny outdoors in the middle of dark and cold (-15C here) Finnish December. Oh how I miss autumn and nice sunny days. It is so dark here where I live, we have only about 4 hours of “daylight” at this time of the year. If it’s cloudy, the light is grey and sad... Merry Christmas from the other side of the big pond, hope you don’t disappear under all the snow you have got. :)
The wilderness exploration is _great,_ don't get me wrong, but this is right up there with the best of TH-cam's cooking channels.
I'm so obsessed with these videos. They're so relaxing and entertaining, not to mention the beautiful camera work. Love the vids, Matthew! Keep up the great work!
On night two, sat there with Month and that sunset you truly were the richest man in the world right there! Great trip so far thank you
Monty is such a special and dedicated friend to you and vice versa. I enjoy all your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Hello Monty and Sir. Matthew! Awesome to see dear Monty doing so well. Would love to feel the chill of fall weather. Hopefully we will get a touch of fall next week here in Louisiana. Great to see you are doing well. Thanks for another awesome video.
What's up Matt?!... Your videos help me relax and chill out at night!!! 👍👌
Oh ya know!
That was a heck of a lot of portages. Don't know how you carry it all. Delish fish dinner and ice cream sandwich! What a luxury! I think Monty might not like the feeling of the thermarest. Poor Mcfluff butt needs a blankie.
Thanks
hello my friend.
Thank you for sharing a good video.
I'm into your video.
I'm so happy and happy to know you.
Amazing very nice video👍
Sitting here, hot dinner ready just in time for a new episode of Matthew and long nose fluffy butt Monty trapsing around the wilderness... life is good.
Yes it is so therapeutic I'm so happy for him and Monty LOL don't you just love it? I do!
Thank you for sharing Matthew , I really enjoy you and Monty having a great time!
Brilliant videos Matt
☕️ in hand, I’m ready for the adventure ⛺️👨🏼🐕.
As an Italian I can assure you that is the SAUCE that makes the dish.
You can make Carbonara - bacon and eggs sauce - with all kind of pasta ("noodles" as you call it) and it is always a Carbonara. Same with "amatriciana" - bacon and tomatoes, or "cacio e pepe" - cheese and pepper.
Aha! Will my name be silently cursed if I continue to call my pasta dishes whatever names I decide to make up at that point in time?
The Noble and Majestic Monty in his natural habitat 0:27
Awesome......new material to watch...... I've watch all the posts at least twice.......been waiting for this......well done Matthew and mr monti.....
I was supposed to go to breakfast with the wife.... instead we're watching you have an adventure with your dog while sipping coffee. So instead we'll just go to lunch. :) Good to see you back!!!
:D
Happy sunday to everyone here🍁🚬🔥💨💨
Great video :) I also had one of those Toe Biters in the warehouse while I was working.. It was flying around and a decent size to. Had no idea they actually caused a good bite. Thanks for the info!
Love how Monty just waits to be picked up!!
Your channel is amazing! Keep up the wonderful videos
Part 1 was great. Looking forward to the next video
That Monte loves being outdoors with you. What a beautiful Or should I say ?
Handsome Dog he is.
Definitely handsome.
You really seem to enjoy teasing poor Monty! What a GREAT dog!
Man I used to get up at 2:30am and be at work by 4am. That’s when I worked in healthcare lol.
59:40 appreciate your Monty❤️ always!
Again, not a Posa video without the following:
#Igotalatestart
#impromptumoosecall
#impromptulooncall
Love watching your adventures, legit has me wanting to get a GoPro and camp even more. CashMonte is ultra spoiled and doesn't even know it... Good job and taking a commitment to the baitcaster, and still sticking with the traditional Posa Cast.
Hahaha!
Hey Matt, your video editing is superb!
Love the setups with the camera that show you going past in your boat or on portages. The effort is well worth it! Hard to believe you do it all yourself on top of everything you are already doing out there.
When you put macaroni with spaghetti sauce we call it goulash lol
Nothing better than a Man with his Dog in Nature !
good 2 see monty back to himself after taken all the antibotics ...
:D
Joe W. I hadn’t felt good...what happened w Monty?
It's so funny, I've seen this video several times, and everytime I see the fish in the net over the side of the boat, I get nervous!!!lol ❤🐕🚣♂️
Hello U two guys. Glad to see Monty back to his old self. U two take good care of yourselves--have a lot of fun now. It's raining right now at 11:50 AM. EST. I will be watching every video on this trip. God Bless & keep U guys....Phoenix
Wow that is an amazing route with lots of camp spots.
Try those twisty spiral noodles for your spaghetti. They shouldn't poke through the bag and the texture is much better than the elbows.
Here in Maine we would call that chop suey. Love all you do to entertain us and share all you and Monty's adventures! Love from Maine ❤️
I laugh my ass off every time Matt and Monty have the air bed fight.
The sunsets are gorgeous 😍🤩🙌
Nice to see you back. Have a bless day
I'm so happy that is a 6 part video 😍
:D
Just love all your stuff!!! I can never get enough, praying for you and your family always!!!
35:20 The pasta noodle corresponds to the type of sauce. So tomato sauce for example goes well with shells or penne because they can hold the sauce in the cavity. Whereas Pesto goes really well with long pasta because it coats it. It's all really non-binding but that's the general idea behind it.
