I have friends in Manila that are surgeons. They have nice houses, take vacations to Europe, eat out at restaurants, you name it. Best of all they have a driver and several katulongs which frees them up to spend all their home time with their children. For them to give all that up to work as a clerk in Canada and instead spend time doing housework and buying groceries is not exactly rich to me. And as a clerk he'll probably need to get a second job to make ends meet which leaves less time with his children.
I guess my point is people that are well off in the Philippines will immediately notice the change in lifestyle when they move to Canada. I can speak from experience as it was a major downgrade for my family as my Dad had to work graveyard shifts while my Mom worked daytime so they can take turns with childcare. In Manila we were a one income family 9-5 job and we ate dinners together. In Canada I rarely saw my parents together as they were always working. My siblings and I were the classic latchkey kids in the 1970s to 80s.

Self employed you own a job if you stop working your income stop coz you don't have a system and employees.. if you can leave your business even 2 years still income flows in.. wealth is time even you stop working so many years you can survive.. its not how much your income if your self employed like doctors accountant when you stop working your income stops you don't have leverage system employees that work for you
