Oh wow, we've wanted to go to Karlovy Vary for so long! Loved this video. The spas and springs look so lovely and relaxing, it looks perfect for our next workation. Time to book those flights 😀
Thanks so much for watching! We're very glad you enjoyed our video about Karlovy Vary and we do hope you can visit soon! It is indeed one of the most relaxing places we can think of for a workation!
I was in Karlovy Vary a few years ago, during the film festival. I thought it was such a pretty town, but unfortunately some places were closed due to the festival. I'd love to go back. Indeed, one day in not enough to experience this beautiful place.
Thanks for watching Joanna! The Film Festival must have been a unique experience! But, yes, to make the most of Karlovy Vary and around, you should probably go back at a quieter time for a few days.
The list of important guests is so much longer. Beethoven, russian tzar, Bismarck, Goethe, Chopin, Kafka, Marx, Paganini, Schumann, Strauss, prussian king. It was a meeting spot for nobility and diplomats. Habsburgs (the austrian dynasty) even built a railway connecting Karlovy Vary to Pilsen, České Budějovice and Linz, in order to get there quickly from Vienna.
Most of the railway lines in Czechia were built during the Austrian Empire, but I don't know if it can be said that the Habsburgs themselves had them built ? Kᵃrlᵒvʸ Vᵃrʸ lies on the double-track railway line Ústᶦࠥ nᵃd Lᵃbᵉm - Chᵒmᵘtᵒv - K.V. -Chᵉb and two single-track lines leave from there: K.V. - Pᵒtᵘ᩶čkʸ ··Jᵒhᵃnngᵉᵒrgᵉnstᵃdt and : K.V. - Bᵉčᵒv nᵃd Tᵉplᵒᵘ - Mᵃrᶦᵃࠥnskᵉࠥ Lᵃࠥznᵉ᩶, which lies on the Chᵉb - Plzᵉň line, which is partly double-track and partly single-track.
Vsry means to boil, but a sand in naturaly strong springs moves due to the flow, immitating the boiling motion. So the translation would be springs. Which were used for bathing.
excellent tips and beautiful presentation
Thank you for your kind words 🩵

Karlovy Vary ❤my home town
Your hometown is absolutely gorgeous!
Uns hat Karlsbad sehr gut gefallen. Alles war zu Fuß zu erreichen. Im September sind wir in Marienbad.
Thank you for your comment! We loved how walkable Karlovy Vary was too! Enjoy Marienbad!

Karlsbad = Charles' Bath
Karlovy Vary ≠ Charles' Baths
Charles' Baths is the stop of tram no.17, 2,18 in the Old Town
Vsry means to boil, but a sand in naturaly strong springs moves due to the flow, immitating the boiling motion. So the translation would be springs. Which were used for bathing.
Actually, I wrote it wrong:
the name of the tram stop in Prague is Charles's spas
(not Karlovy koupele )
